Honoring the Practitioners of Falun Dafa on the Auspicious Occasion of the Eighth Annual World Falun Dafa Day

Whereas, It is important to honor those institutions that thrive in the midst of harsh oppression; and

Whereas, Founded in China in 1992, Falun Dafa has experienced an amazing increase in popularity; and

Whereas, While practitioners of Falun Dafa have enjoyed remarkable improvement in physical and mental health, it has become extremely dangerous to continue the practice in its homeland; and

Whereas, Since Jiang Zemin ordered and end to the practice, Falun Dafa practitioners have been separated from their families, and even tortured and murdered in China; and

Whereas, A Canadian investigation has revealed that organs from Falun Dafa practitioners are now being harvested and sold for high prices; and

Whereas, The Eighth Annual World Falun Dafa Day is being celebrated around the world today, May 13, 2007, including here in Union Square Park; Now, Therefore, Be It

Reserved, That, I, State Senator Jeffrey D. Klein, congratulate the practitioners of Falun Dafa on the occasion of the Eighth World Falun Dafa Day; And Be It Further

Reserved, That a copy of this proclamation be transmitted to the Falun Dafa practitioners of New York State during today's event.
