Finland: Nordic Falun Gong Practitioners Celebrate the 8th Anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day in Helsinki (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 13th, 2007, four Nordic countries and a group of Russian Falun Gong practitioners celebrated World Falun Dafa Day in Helsinki with practitioners all over the world. They hung a banner reading "Falun Dafa Day" on a pedestrian street in the city center.

On May 13th, 1992, Master Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong to the public in Changchun, China. There are practitioners in over eighty countries practicing Falun Gong; the book Zhuan Falun has been translated into more than thirty languages.

A Peruvian mother and daughter were very interested in Falun Gong and happy to learn about the exercise site address in Helsinki. They signed the petition to express their support.

Sunny, a Chinese student in Helsinki, said that she received a message that yesterday her mother had finally seen her father at the brainwashing center where her father is detained. Her father is still under detention. Sunny added that she must rescue her father and stop this persecution of Falun Gong.

A Finnish lady stopped to watch for a long time. She said to practitioners that she could feel a peaceful and merciful energy field around them and expressed her desire to learn Falun Gong.

Mr Li from Norway started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. He and his wife were persecuted and sent to a labor camp and prison illegally after the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. They were rescued to Norway by the UN. When being asked the reason why he could persist in practicing Falun Gong without giving up under various pressures of being tortured, brainwashed, and threatened, he answered that it is because of his strong wish to return to his original and true self. "I firmly believe that the principles of Falun Dafa can allow me return to my true self. It was this faith that enabled me to pass through this persecution, and nothing can stop me."

Sunny said during her interview, "I followed my mother to practice Falun Gong in Wuhan in 1996. From then on, I knew how to be a good child. All my classmates admired my good and harmonious family. I could hardly feel any pressure in this cultivation family, and I felt so happy. I was always a good student. However, since the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, I lost this happy family; my parents were persecuted continuously. It was on March 20 that my father was again arrested. I am now overseas with the practitioners all over the world trying my best to rescue my father and stop this persecution.
