By a practitioner in China

In December, the skin on my hands started to crack. As soon as my hands touched water, I had to immediately put on some cream, otherwise the skin on my fingers would peel and my hands would tighten. They also swelled, though it was not painful and there was no bleeding. I did not pay much attention to this situation as it did not affect my ability to do the three things. However, I was not sure whether this minor sickness karma was the result of Master eliminating my karma or the old forces' interference, so I discussed it with a fellow practitioner. She mentioned that she had had a similar problem before, but she recovered after a few days due to her faith in Master and the Fa. She pointed out that my symptoms were minor, unlike others who could not go out to clarify the truth. She thought it was Master eliminating my karma and since I thought it made sense, I did not send forth righteous thoughts to negate it.

My tribulation continued for five months. I then realized something was not right, so I sent forth righteous thoughts. I said to myself, "If this is Master eliminating karma, I will endure it. If it is the old forces' arrangements, I will not accept it." The symptoms did not disappear but did get slightly better. I thought that since everyone knows I practice Falun Dafa, upon seeing me like this, they may not believe that Falun Gong is good and I would be damaging the reputation of Dafa. With this, I enlightened that this was not sickness karma but instead persecution by the old forces. Although it was not severe, it was still persecution. If I accepted it, I would be accepting the persecution of the old forces, so I started to send forth righteous thoughts. No matter how minor my tribulation was, I should eliminate it. My thoughts were as follws: I will not accept it and I will negate the arrangements of the old forces, including the old forces themselves. As soon as I had this thought, my hands went back to normal! This proves the power of Dafa and the importance of righteous thoughts.

Here is what I enlightened to on this issue:

Do not ignore sickness karma simply because it is minor. This is acknowledging the existence of the old forces. As practitioners, we should show ordinary people the beauty of Falun Dafa. Since I started practicing 11 years ago, I have never had major sickness karma. However, I sometimes could not tell whether minor symptoms were the result of Master eliminating karma for me, or persecution by the old forces. I hope that those who have similar problems do not ignore such tribulations. We have to send forth righteous thoughts. As long as we have faith in Master and the Fa, and maintain We have to walk our paths well. There are no examples to follow in cultivation. Although Master had mentioned numerous times that everyone has his or her own path, I still tended to follow other people's examples. In fact, certain solutions to fellow practitioners' tribulations may not work for my own tribulations. However, when other practitioners have problems, we should look inward to see if we have similar problems. Through sharing, we can eliminate our attachments, but we must remember that fellow practitioners' words are not the Fa. We have to use the Fa as teacher so we can walk our paths well.
