Taiwan Infotimes: Chinese Classical Dance Competition Calls on Taiwanese Dance Experts
(Clearwisdom.net) On June 3, Taiwan Infotimes reported the announcement
about New Tang Dynasty Television's (NTDTV) International Chinese Classical
Dance Competition. The article said that NTDTV will hold an international
Chinese classical dance competition in early July and the champion of each
competition division will win a prize of $10,000. To encourage dance experts in Taiwan to participate in this grand occasion,
the article said that the hosting organization is holding an informational
meeting at the Taipei County Government office. Li Youjun, Deputy Director of
the Art and Culture Department of NTDTV's Asia-Pacific bureau, said that the
competition will be broadcast worldwide through the station's five satellites,
reaching about 20 million people. All dance teachers and dancers from professional arts academies and dance
troupes, and dance instructors, dancers, and dance students from professional
dance schools between the ages of 14 - 40 may register and participate. The age
limits of the competition are as follows: Junior Division: age 14 - 17; the
Adult Division: age 18 - 40. For each gender per division, one Gold award of $10,000 will be awarded; one
Silver award of $3,000 will be awarded; and two Bronze awards will be awarded,
$1,000 per person. The competition will be held in Manhattan from July 6 to 8. NTDTV is
soliciting sponsorship from Taiwanese enterprises, and Taiwanese contestants
will receive a fellowship which will cover half of the fare to New York (the
