Zhao Xuemin Monitored and Persecuted for Years by Hebei Province Electrical Training Center Officials

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhao Xuemin is a Falun Dafa practitioner who used to work as a teacher in Hebei Province Electrical Training Center (formerly known as Shijiangzhuang City Electrical School). Since July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhao has been persecuted by Hebei Province Electrical Training Center Officials.

As soon as the persecution of Falun Gong started, Hebei Province Electrical Training Center officials sent people to confiscate Dafa books from Mr. Zhao's home, suspend his salary, and stop him from working. Later, they worked together with local police and detained him in a labor camp. After his family took him out of the labor camp due to his poor physical condition, Hebei Province Electrical Training Center officials continued monitoring and harassing him for several years. Later they attempted several times to send him to a brainwashing center or a labor camp, or fire him, but failed. Mr. Zhao continues to be deprived of his freedom and is not allowed to work.

Prior to cultivation, Mr. Zhao had very poor health, including chronic kidney failure, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Not long after starting to practice, Mr. Zhao regained his health, saving his workplace a large amount of medical expense. This is a fact well known in his workplace.

Over the past eight years, Hebei Province Electrical Center has disrupted Mr. Zhao's life, preventing him from working and reducing his income. Every month, Mr. Zhao is paid only 240 yuan. After deductions for water, electricity and sanitary expenses, he only receives less than 100 yuan. (His regular income should be more than 4,000 yuan per month.) At first, the officials at his workplace took turns going to Mr. Zhao's home to pressure him to give up his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Mr. Zhao clarified the truth to them many times, and they witnessed for themselves the extraordinary improvements Dafa made to his life. Still, the officials, together with local police, secretly sent Mr. Zhao to a forced labor camp in August 2001. (Please refer to Minghui reports on July 22, 2004.)

In the labor camp, Mr. Zhao's physical health went bad. When family members visited him, they found he was very weak and thin, in addition to having high blood pressure, diabetes, and a rash all over his body. As a result, he had to stay in bed. Mr. Zhao's family members consistently worked to gain his release. To shirk their responsibility, labor camp officials agreed on a conditional release and asked his workplace officials to take him back. However, they refused to accept Mr. Zhao because he would not give up his belief. Later, labor camp officials notified Mr. Zhao's family to take him home.

Soon after that, a new Party Secretary was appointed by the name of Fan Yankun. Out of political interest, he continued to persecute Mr. Zhao. He attempted several times to send Mr. Zhao to a brainwashing center or labor camp but failed. Fan then spread rumors that Mr. Zhao should be fired due to his "voluntary absence from work" for such a long time. In fact, after Mr. Zhao's health recovered, he clarified the truth to Fan several times, asking him to reinstate his job and stop doing bad deeds. Fan did not listen and even swore at Mr. Zhao.

After Mr. Zhao was released from the forced labor camp in 2002, Qi Xiquan and Fan Yankun told security personnel to stay in the bicycle garage next to Mr. Zhao's home, so that he could be watched 24 hours a day. Even when Mr. Zhao went to buy groceries or go shopping, these two people followed him closely. This blatant violation of human rights has continued for several years. Even recently, when Mr. Zhao's father-in-law was severely ill and passed away, they stopped him from attending the funeral.
