Taiwan: Introducing Falun Dafa to Family Members of Military Personnel in Chiayi (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Beginning August 13, Falun Gong practitioners in Chiayi held a nine-day Falun Gong seminar in a complex for the family members of military personnel. On the fourth day of the class, local practitioner Dr. Hwang shared his experiences with Falun Gong. Hwang said that he had had severe insomnia. After reading Zhuan Falun for the very first time, he had a sound sleep and the insomnia has never come back. In his sharing, he cordially invited people to treasure this opportunity to learn this great Fa.

Dr. Hwang said: "I am a doctor and I have seen many births, deaths, and illnesses. Three of my classmates died of cancer soon after my graduation. This experience led me to feel that life is so unpredictable. My colleagues often ask each other whether they have bought medical insurance. This is because they feel that people are helpless in the face of illness and that we can only find the comfort of self-protection by buying insurance.

"I studied the teachings of Daoism and tried Buddhist cultivation. However, I could not find a place that gave me assurance. Because of my profession, I often meet patients in critical condition, and their emotions of anxiety and fear remind me repeatedly that I should find a way to eternity. Because of the pressure of work, I developed insomnia and had to rely on drugs to sleep. I knew that such drugs would not do any good in the long run and decided to try qigong exercises. Though I spent a lot money on learning different qigong practices, I saw no progress. One day, a friend said that I should try Falun Gong. I did, and unexpectedly, my insomnia just disappeared. More importantly, I think that I have found a way that can guide me back to my true self."

Dr. Hwang has practiced Falun Gong for nearly four years. He said: "From Zhuan Falun, I have learned many profound principles and I know the practice is what I have been searching for. Today you have the opportunity to learn about this Fa, so you should grasp it. With Falun Gong, you only need to live according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." You do not have to be a vegetarian or become a monk or nun."

Ms. Yang is in her 80s. After learning the five Falun Gong exercises, she said: "I got in touch with Falun Gong practitioners about five years ago. After listening to Master Li's teaching during this class, I now have a deeper understanding on the practice and cultivation. I will start my cultivation with Falun Gong."

Mr. Swun said: "I heard that Mainland China banned Falun Gong and I came to this class to figure out why the Chinese Communist Party would persecute this practice. What I have found is that Falun Gong is a great practice that teaches people to cultivate xinxing and is completely apolitical. The persecution is completely illegal and I want to practice Falun Gong."
