A Teacher Is Dying in Chongqing City Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Guanglin is detained in the Chongqing City Second Prison located in the Nan'an District of Chongqing City. On August 10, 2007, his family visited him, but Mr. Wang walked out very slowly with the help of two guards. He is was as thin as a skeleton, deformed, almost paralyzed, and could not take care of himself. He hasn't had a normal bowel movement for many days, and he is near death.

Mr. Wang Guanglin was a teacher employed by the Beipei District Thirteenth Middle School in Chongqing City. He taught without notes and was very effective and lively, so he was widely respected and loved by his students. Because he cultivated Falun Dafa and clarified the truth about the CCP persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, he was arrested on August 19, 2004. He was released on September 19, 2004, after holding a one-month hunger strike.

On November 28, 2004, he was arrested in Gaoliang Town in the Wanzhou District and taken to the the Wanzhou District Detention Center, where they began torturing him for three whole days by tying him up on a metal chair. He could not move because he was handcuffed and his feet were shackled to the chair. This torture resulted in his feet becoming severely swollen and numb, and he had difficulty walking. Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike without water to protest the persecution after he was arrested.

After three days, police officers He Changquan, Tan Xingwei, and Bai Yuwei (all male) from the Beipei Department went to th eWanzhou District and recognized Mr. Wang Guanglin. The officers took him back to the Beipei District Detention Center. The guards force-fed him twice each day and damaged his stomach. On December 29, 2004, the detention center administrators promised to return all his personal property that they had taken, allow his son to visit him, and release him as innocent, so he agreed to end his hunger strike. However, the center administrators reneged on their promise. They coerced the Chongqing City First Middle Court into rejecting his appeal and sentencing him to 15 years in prison. They took him to Yongchuan Prison on January 19, 2005. He is now detained in the Eighth Ward of the Chongqing City Second Prison.

Mr. Wang Guanglin firmly believes he is not guilty of any crime. The guards told his family, "[Mr. Wang] does only the Falun Gong exercises and refuses to do labor." He believes he is not a criminal and has never violated the law, so he refuses to cooperate by doing forced labor at the prison.
