By a practitioner from Jilin City

(Clearwisdom.net) Since February and March this year, the practitioners in Jilin City have faced one serious persecution after another. Dozens of practitioners' homes were searched, they were arrested, detained and tortured. Some were even tortured to death. Several material centers were destroyed, resulting in a huge loss of money and equipment. Why has this kind of heavy lesson been repeated again and again? Also, every time practitioners were arrested, there were always more than one. For example on June 29, there were over a dozen practitioners along with non-practicing family members arrested.

At this final stage of the Fa-rectification cultivation, there are large amounts of evil in other dimensions being eliminated. Today when there is less and less evil, why in Jilin City is the evil still so vicious? It might be because the cornered beast is desperate and will put up a crazy fight. But as practitioners in our area, we should carefully draw lessons from this experience. We should be responsible for the Fa, for our fellow practitioners and also for ourselves to quietly think about our attachments and check inside seriously.

We would like to share the following perspectives:

1. The differences between fellow practitioners have been difficult to dissolve for a long time. Practitioners have had conflicts. As a result, it has provided an opportunity that can be exploited to the evil's advantage. Especially when the practitioners have failed to co-operated with each other, some practitioners did not do it from the Fa-rectification perspective to assist Master to help rectify the Fa. The coordinators did not co-operate with each other.

2. Being attached to oneself, unwilling to listen to different opinions.

This is true especially for those fellow practitioners who have been doing the coordinating job for a long period of time, since in the past few years, in our area, the job to validate Dafa has been done quite well. Very often there was praise and favorable comments made by fellow practitioners either out of town or in our local areas. As a result, some fellow practitioners have had the attachment of zealotry, showing off, and doing things to gain praise for oneself. They could hardly listen to any different opinion. When the coordinators had meetings they seldom cared about each other's state of studying the Fa and the state of the individual's cultivation. As a result, usually they would say, "You are fine, so am I." But whenever someone was arrested, they would later find lots of faults in him, even saying something that was not correct. Knowingly or unknowingly, this provided the evil with excuses to persecute the practitioners. 3. Fellow practitioners did not work as a whole group. It is very common among fellow practitioners to be loose, lazy, apathetic and comfort-seeking.

In facing the serious situation of being persecuted, practitioners in our area still did not work as a group. We did not form a group according to "Together there's a form, and separated there are particles" ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") in either rescuing fellow practitioners or exposing the evil and clarifying the truth. On the Clearwisdom website, there were articles stating that in some areas, practitioners have been sending forth righteous thought 24 hours a day for years. Each Fa-study group takes care of some areas, cooperating with each other. As a result, they leave no loopholes for the evil to make use of. In some other areas, whenever the persecution occurred, the practitioners would focus on exposing the persecution and clarifying the truth. They would have someone specifically working on clarifying the truth to the government, the public security bureau and the court. It achieved a very good effect in reducing the persecution and saving sentient beings. However in our area, we had no fellow practitioners who worked specifically to clarify the truth to the high-level people in society. We can not even guarantee to send forth the righteous thoughts at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Especially at the beginning of this year, after a fellow practitioner from out of town saw there were two evil dragons high up in the sky above our city, there were several fellow practitioners in our area being abducted. But we still did not pay enough attention to sending righteous thoughts. As a result, the persecution occurred in one case after another.

4. Some fellow practitioners' attachment of relying on and admiring others also contributed to the coordinators' attachment to oneself and doing things.

For example, some practitioners did not have good habits of studying the Fa, and did not have a clear understanding of the Fa. Whenever some problems occurred, they would just go and ask those fellow practitioners that they believed to have a good and clear understanding of the Fa. There is nothing wrong with this. However, knowingly or unknowingly, the practitioners formed the attachment of relying on others, these attachments can be easily used by the demons.

5. The loopholes of the practitioners' own cultivation

Besides the issues mentioned above, there were other factors related to the fellow practitioners' own cultivation. For some practitioners, even the coordinators, they could hardly guarantee time every day to study the Fa and do the exercises. Of course we should not acknowledge the arrangements made by the old forces, we should not acknowledge their existence. But cultivation itself is very serious. The path of Dafa practitioners' cultivation will be set up as a reference for future beings. We have to walk our path righteously.

In fact, the above-mentioned issues, no matter how big or small, or how widespread, they are all the areas that we need to check inside. We should first of all do what Master told us, to deny completely the old forces. It is in fact the old forces that did the wrong things. We should not say that it is just so-and-so's problem. But as a cultivator who still cultivates as a human being, we still have our human attachments. If we neglect to study the Fa seriously, while looking inside to cultivate ourselves, the demons will make use of it to persecute us. That is why Master has kept asking us to study the Fa more, carefully study the Fa, and genuinely study the Fa.
