The Ms. Su Kezhen I Knew

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Su Kezhen, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Tuanlin Town, Jingmen City, Hubei Province was arrested multiple times during the recent years of the persecution of Falun Gong. In the Wuhan Women's Prison, she was subjected to various types of torture and many of her teeth were knocked out. On a number of occasions the severe, brutal nature of the torture rendered her unconscious and she had to be carried home by her family. Under constant harassment and threats, she passed away on May 24, 2007.

Ms. Su Kezhen was born in 1957. In 1973, she was injured while working at a reservoir construction site. The reservoir project was being built by the Chinese Communist regime. Her injury consisted of a thigh bone fracture, and only one-third of her thigh bone could be put back in place. At the time, considering she was only fifteen years old, the doctor decided not to amputate the fractured leg, but Ms. Su had to take a large amount of medicine due to the severity of the injury.

After the accident, none of the Communist regime officials stepped forward to take responsibility. Therefore, Ms. Su became a repeat appellant in her local area. Whenever she appeared at any office to appeal, the officials there avoided her and refused to listen to her, since they were not able to resolve her issue.

Her entire family suffered a lot due to her injury. The families' savings were depleted by the medical costs, and the side effects of the medicine worsened her health daily. The entire side of her body where the injury occurred was shrinking, from head to foot, and the pain was intolerable.

One day on the street, someone put the book Zhuan Falun in the bag she was holding, and instantly her body felt much lighter.

After Ms. Su Kezhen went home, she started following the principles taught in Zhuan Falun. She began cultivating her mind and striving to be a good person. After two weeks, the pain in her body disappeared, and after three months, her shrinking muscles had returned to normal. Mr. Su, an official who had been meeting with her during her appeals, admitted that the recovery of her leg was a miracle.

However, after July 20, 1999, the corrupt police officials detained Ms. Su Kezhen in the No. 1 Detention Center because she practiced Falun Gong. While in the detention center, Ms. Su wrote a paper entitled, "Why I persist in practicing Falun Gong." She explained in detail her reasons for starting the practice of Falun Gong and the changes before and after her practice. Soon after she wrote the paper, she was released.

However, she was still often harassed by the local police. Whether she was in the police substation or in the detention center, she often repeated, "Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance is good! I will follow Teacher!"

In 2002, she and I were illegally detained in the same cell. She showed me her injured leg and the injury could no longer be seen. After practicing Falun Dafa, her skin had become refined to a white rosy complexion. However, since she shouted "Falun Dafa is good," several policemen carried her to the cell and twisted her leg to inflict pain.

While in the detention center, Su Kezhen refused to wear the prisoner's clothes or eat the prisoner's food. The former director of the detention center, Guan Mingde, ordered guards to pull Ms. Su out of her cell. She was forcibly fed by several young men in their twenties. She bit her teeth tightly. Guan Mingde commanded the prisoners to pry her mouth open with pliers while another prisoner wiped the blood from her mouth. She started bleeding as soon as the prying started. The prisoners couldn't proceed due to all the blood. One male prisoner fainted at this cruel scene.

When Su Kezhen came back that time, she showed me her teeth, which were loosening from the prying. Several days later, Su Kezhen passed out due to her hunger strike, and she was taken to the hospital. Her blood pressure was high, at 220 over 180. The detention center was afraid that she would die in the center, so they requested that her local police substation take her back. Thus Ms. Su once again returned home.

In order to save more people, Ms. Su Kezhen often related her personal experiences to people. She told them about the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa, and persuaded them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its related organizations. On some days, she could persuade over 100 people to quit the CCP and its related organizations.

The Su Kezhen I knew and we miss was a genuine Falun Dafa disciple.
