Japan: Introducing Falun Gong at a Folk Festival in Hiroshima (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 9, 2007, a traditional festival in memory of the "River Child " was held in South Hiroshima, Japan. At the event, local Falun Gong practitioners performed the traditional Chinese dance "Flower Fairies" and the five Falun Gong exercises, which greatly impressed the people of Hiroshima.

The celebration was held on the green banks of a river. Besides the two main stages, the River Child Stage and the Peace Stage, there was also a free market and many food stalls, selling a great variety of traditional foods made by overseas students from many countries. The local residents enjoyed the colorful performances while tasting and buying delicious food. The majority of dances were performed on the Peace Stage, but there were also traditional dances from countries such as Japan, Chin,a and India.

This was the first time Falun Gong practitioners in Hiroshima had participated in this event. They performed the dance "Flower Fairies" and demonstrated the five  Falun Gong exercises, inspiring  the audience with their positive, uplifting energy. The origami lotus flowers also attracted a lot of people.  While people were learning how to fold origami lotus flowers, they listened to Falun Gong practitioners talk about the benefits of  Falun Gong and the cruel persecution innocent Falun Gong practitioners have suffered in China.

Local Falun Gong practitioners say that they often take part in various community activities, communicate with the local people, and take part in festivals. As a result, many local people have learned the truth about Falun Gong.
