Sanhe City Detention Center Transfers Many Practitioners to Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 18, 2007, authorities at the Sanhe City Detention Center transferred seven practitioners--Mr. Du Fucang, Mr. Zhang Liancun, Mr. Zhou Zaitian, Mr. Di Wenzhu, Mr. Ma Weishan, Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong, and Mr. Zhang Deli--to Jidong Prison in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. On August 16, Ms. Bai Yanxia was transferred to Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison. Their current situations are as follows.

Ms. Bai Yanxia has not yet been assigned to a ward, but is being subjected to forced brainwashing. The guards will not allow any of her family members to see her, claiming that they can't see Ms. Bai for three months.

Mr. Zhou Chuanzhong cannot walk by himself due to the mistreatment to which he has been subjected. Supported by three people, he walked out to see his family. He could not speak and was in a confused state. His head and face were so swollen that it was almost impossible to recognize him. He was wearing a card on his chest that said "Strictly control." His family requested his release for medical treatment, but it was denied.

Mr. Zhang Liancun cannot take care of himself and is too weak to speak, or even sit up without support. His weight used to be 90 kilograms (198 pounds), but has dropped to 60 kilograms (132 pounds). He had surgery in the Sanhe City Detention Center, but before he recovered from the operation, he was transferred to prison and was subjected to mistreatment.

Mr. Zhang Deli was brutally mistreated and forced to do hard labor. He is now in poor health.

The status of Mr. Ma Weishan, Mr. Du Fucang, Mr. Zhou Zaitian and Mr. Di Wenzhu is currently unknown.
