Ms. Lin Daihong from Baishan City, Jilin Province Arrested and Taken to the Jiangyuan County Detention Center

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Ms. Lin Daihong from Baishan City in Jilin Province was illegally arrested in late August 2007 for clarifying the truth to the local people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The detention center guards force-fed her in an inhumane way while she was on a persecution protest hunger strike. The arrest left her child, her 92-year-old grandfather, and her elderly parents-in-law with inadequate care.

Prior to practicing Falun Gong Ms. Lin was stubborn and hot-tempered and had developed several bad habits following her parents' divorce, such as smoking and drinking. Ever since learning Falun Gong she has become a more tolerant and forgiving person. She respects and has taken good care of her parents-in-law. Because of her family's financial difficulties and the need for her husband to work in another region for an entire year, Ms. Lin has had to care for her child, who is under six, as well as three older family members. In the meantime, she also must tend the crops in their field, which is over ten mu [1.65 acres]. She works very hard and does not complain. During the Chinese New Year holiday, when other families are busy buying goods for the festival, she goes to different towns and villages to sell Duilian [a kind of Chinese brush pen used for calligraphy that is used especially at Chinese New Year's time] to earn more money to cover her family's expenses. Sometimes she has had no money to replace her worn-out shoes. She even wears used shoes that others have thrown away.

Nonetheless Ms. Lin never worries about having enough food to eat or clothes to wear. She often says that she is happy because she has learned Falun Gong and because she has understood the reason for living and the genuine meaning of a life's existence. She is always smiling. Those who do not know her may think she does not have any hardships in her life. Although she is young and leads a frugal existence, she takes the sufferings as joy. She always considers others first and cares more for others than for herself. She helps those who need help, even if it means she has to spend all the money she has.

Ms. Lin knows that many of her fellow villagers do not know the facts of the persecution, brought about by Jiang's gang. She knows that a person who has no compassion and does not believe in the Fa will not have a good future. She has learned Falun Gong and understands how to be an upright human being, and she wants to bring the goodness of Falun Gong to her fellow villagers. But even so, someone reported her to government officials as she distributed information about Falun Gong. She is now being held in the Jiangyuan County Detention Center. Her family members are in great distress over her absence. They have become exceedingly worried about her safety since they learned that Zhang Qifa and Zhang Quanfu, a father and son from Jiangyuan County, died from torture less than one year after their arrest.

On the morning of September 4, 2007, National Security Division leader Sun finally allowed Ms. Lin's family members to see her, after she had been detained for almost one week. She was very pale and no longer had her previously rosy complexion. National Security Division police officers were present continually during the visit. They kept her from talking. Her family members could see the wounds on her arms. They learned that she had been interrogated many times.

Ms. Lin had been on a hunger strike for almost five days while in detention and was extremely weak. On the morning of September 5, she was given a forced intravenous infusion, and she was force-fed again around noon. Three males held her to the floor during the force-feeding. They held her by her hair and arms, causing her arms to turn blue in many areas. When her sister and husband saw her, their hearts broke. After seeing her, her husband went to an area where no one else could see him and cried. Her mother-in-law was so worried that she could not eat for several days.

After Ms. Lin's arrest, her husband, Lu Ming, kept going to the Shiren Police Station and the National Security Division in Jiangyuan County. The police station officials were avoiding him, so he went to see National Security Division leader Sun, who said that Ms. Lin would be released only after she confessed where she had gotten the Falun Gong materials and who distributed them with her, and after she had written a statement promising to no longer practice Falun Gong.

To prevent the continued persecution of innocent lives and to prevent the break up of even more families, we hereby appeal to all righteous people. Please help stop this inhumane persecution that is ongoing in China. Please help the Falun Gong practitioners who have been suffering for the benefits of others.
