Ms. Lin Daihong Abused and Critically Ill in Jiangyuan County Detention Center, Jilin Province
By a practitioner from Xiantao City
(Clearwisdom.net) On August 31, 2007, Ms. Lin Daihong was illegally
arrested by police officers from the Shiren Police Station and detained in
the Jiangyuan County Detention Center. Her family continuously appealed to the
Shiren Police Station and to the State Security Division of Jiangyuan County for
her release, but they pushed responsibility back and forth. Meanwhile, the
authorities of the Shiren Police Station tried to extort money from her family. On September 7, 2007, Ms. Lin's family asked Sun Jinghui (male), the head of
the State Security Division of Jiangyuan County, to release her. He said that
she would be sent to the Baishan Forced Labor Camp, and that only the director
of the Police Department had the authority to release her. Ms Lin's family tried
to find the director, but the officers hid the director's whereabouts, claiming
that he was out of town. On the afternoon of September 8, 2007, Ms. Lin Daihong, who had been
illegally detained for nearly ten days, became critically ill due to
mistreatment in the Jiangyuan County Detention Center. In order to evade
responsibility, the officers of the State Security Division called her family
and asked them to bring her to the hospital for an infusion. Since Ms. Lin's
family was short of money (her seven-year-old son could not afford school and
they could not afford the hospitalization fee either), they had to bring her
home. Ms. Lin used to be healthy and full of the energy. She was abused and
became critically ill in such a short time. Moreover, the authorities of the
Jiangyuan County Detention Center and the State Security Division of Jiangyuan
County avoided their responsibility to Ms. Lin and passed her off to her family
when she was critically ill. Presently Ms. Lin's family is investigating the suspects involved in this
persecution case.
