Warsaw: Official Publication of Polish Translation of Zhuan Falun is Announced - Practitioners from Many Countries Gather for a Weekend of Events

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 21, 2007, the official Polish translation of Zhuan Falun was formally published in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. Zhuan Falun, by the founder of Falun Gong, Master Li Hongzhi, has been translated into over 30 languages. The publication of the Polish version of Zhuan Falun lays a solid foundation for the Polish people to understand and learn Falun Gong - a great way of cultivation that originated in China. On this occasion, about 400 practitioners held a series of activities over a weekend to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in Warsaw.

Local practitioner Jan Jekielek announced the publication of a Polish version of Zhuan Falun to a crowd of over 400 fellow practitioners from all over Europe taking part in events in Warsaw. Seven media outlets, including two TV stations and the two leading local newspapers, had lengthy reports of the events.

Jan Jekielek explained that Polish society had immense interest in Falun Gong, and that human rights abuses and the persecution of Falun Gong in China were often reported. A major newspaper in Poland would publish a relevant article on average every two weeks. Last Thursday, the The Polish Parliamentary Justice and Human Rights Committee invited a member of an international human rights organization, Wu Manyang, to do a special report on the human rights abuses in China. This cross-party parliament committee was composed of 24 members from all the parties in the Parliament. Many Members of Parliament took part in the meeting. Some weeks earlier, over one hundred Polish MP's signed a petition to condemn the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of different groups including Falun Gong.

Ms. Sarciman, a representative from the publisher, said the publishing house originally planned to publish a series of books about the Orient, including feng shui, divination and qigong, and that Zhuan Falun was only part of their original plan. However, after reading Zhuan Falun, the editorial department decided to publish Zhuan Falun only, as "the content of the other books cannot be placed on a par with Zhuan Falun at all." Now, many staff members from the publishing house are preparing to learn and practice Falun Gong.

Early on the morning of September 22, at the square in front of the Science and Culture Place in central Warsaw, a group of several hundred Falun Gong practitioners from 28 countries meditated peacefully and formed two giant Chinese characters, Zheng Fa. The whole square was covered with a peaceful and serene atmosphere. People passing by would stop and look and accept materials and a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The European chorus 'Coming For You' also came to offer support with their repertoire of songs.

A parade set off around noon. Waist drummers took the lead and "celestial maidens" were right behind them. The parade included several groups with different themes, including Falun Dafa spreading to the world, practitioners' resistance against persecution, the Communist Party's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, the Nine Commentaries and the huge tide of quitting the Chinese Communist Party. The procession walked through the busiest street in Warsaw and finally arrived at the Chinese Embassy, where a rally was held. Vice-President of the European Union Edward McMillan-Scott sent a congratulatory letter, which was read aloud at the rally.
