Practitioners Brutally Tortured at Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province is one of the jails used to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. On August 8, 2007, practitioner Zheng Handong was tortured to death. In addition, practitioner Mr. Li Guohua is now blind from the brutal torture inflicted on him, yet the prison authorities refused to release him for medical treatment. It was also confirmed that a practitioner from Shiyan City was tortured into mental collapse and is in serious condition.

On March 20, 2007, over a dozen practitioners were transferred to Fanjiatai Prison from Qinduankou Prison to be tortured. Several practitioners from Shiyan City, including Cai Zidong, Qi Qingsong, Zuo Ligong, Yao Yongfan, and Wang Yuchao, were among them. It was confirmed that many of these practitioners were severely brutalized at Fanjiatai Prison.

Practitioner Cai Zidong, a former volunteer Falun Dafa coordinator in Shiyan City, was illegally sentenced in 2000 to seven years of imprisonment. During the seven-year term, he continually resisted the persecution, and he continued to study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. He was brutally tortured by prison guards and other inmates, and he is now in very poor health. On October 12, 2007, the unjust prison term will expire, and Cai Zidong should be released. However, he has been transferred to Fanjiatai Prison for further persecution.

We urgently call upon international human rights organizations to pay close attention to practitioners' safety and help us stop the persecution.
