Chinese New Year Spectacular Debuts in Los Angeles--Local VIPs Offer Congratulations (Photos)


(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts touring company began a short run of performances of the Chinese New Year Spectacular at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles on January 18, 2008. They came to Los Angeles after a stop in San Diego, and will continue their tour next week in Las Vegas and San Francisco.

Almost one hundred local media, sponsors and elected officials attended a reception at the theater prior to the show.

Representative of well-known Spanish weekly magazine El Aviso in Southern California. The director of public relations is Jessica Maez Zapeda (middle).

California Assembly Member Tony Mendoza presented a proclamation honoring the show at the reception. He is familiar with Chinese culture, and in his district, there are cities with many Chinese people and even Chinese mayors. Mr. Mendoza's wife has Chinese relatives. He said he was fortunate to be invited to watch the show.

Reporters from Los Angeles Times, Fox TV, and local Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Iranian, and Spanish media attended the reception. Hollywood actor and filmmaker Antonio Gellini also attended the reception.

Four shows will be held in Los Angeles. The touring company will then leave for Las Vegas and San Francisco.
