Toronto: Divine Performing Arts Captures the Hearts of the Audience (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts Touring Company staged five Chinese New Year Spectacular shows sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television in Toronto, Canada from January 18 to 20, 2008. The performances left many in the audience amazed and touched.

After seeing the show on the afternoon of January 20, Mr. Mark Lyn, his wife, his mother and two sons, the whole family of five, said that they loved the show. Mr. Lyn told the reporter that his sons and he are learning to write Chinese characters. Mrs. Lyn said that her favorite program was the beautiful dance "Nymphs of the Sea," and the dance where male performers acted to ride horses, "Herding on the Mongolian Plains." His two sons said they agreed with their mother's opinion. They were so excited that they imitated the dance movements.

The Lyn couple said they could feel the message conveyed in the show: belief in divine beings and respect for Buddhas. Mr. Lyn learned about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The whole family of Mr. Lyn enjoyed the show.

Ms. Sun retired from a government position in Shanghai, China. While visiting in Canada, a friend recommended that she see the show, so she and four friends drove from Waterloo, over one hundred kilometers away, to attend. She commented that the show was very good, noting that its artistry, costumes, stage background and music all contain traditional Chinese flavor. Ms. Sun said she could not see such a performance in China because it is not allowed to have things about genuine humanity in China.

Ms. Xu, a retired doctor from China's Jiangxi Province, now lives in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto. She came to see the show with her husband and her daughter's parents-in-law. Ms. Xu told the reporter that they were very fortunate to be able to see the show. "All the programs were excellent."

A Filipino couple and their six relatives and friends attended the show on January 19. The wife told the reporter, "The performance was beautiful. The colors were rich and the dances were elegant. Just fantastic!" She said that they learned from the show that Falun Gong is being persecuted in China.

Mr. Harold Arand engages in technical work in Listowel. He told the reporter that he learned about the show from his friend. He said the entire show was terrific, though his favorite was the Tang drum finale.

Ms. Adriana, a recent University of Guelph graduate, said that she saw the colorful posters about the show at a supermarket, and decided to come to see it. She commented that all programs were beautiful. If asked which one was her favorite, she would choose the drum finale.. She said she felt powerful energy from the program, that it was very exciting. Ms. Adriana said she liked Chinese culture very much, but she could not tell why she liked it. She said it might be that she was once a Chinese before.
