Las Vegas: Performing Arts Critic: "The show brings art to life" (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Dianne Davis is a writer who does show review in Las Vegas. She has seen all kinds of performances, not only in Las Vegas, but also on Broadway. After seeing the Chinese New Year Spectacular show by Divine Performing Arts on January 21, 2008 in Las Vegas, Diane told this reporter that the show was completely different from any show she had seen before.

She said, "I feel that (the show) brings art to life. The dances were extremely beautiful. The costumes were exquisite and graceful. It takes you to another place from where you are. It seemed to lead you to leave the common day and it's like going to another dimension."

Dianne said that though the show was not presented in her native language, it was translated. With explanations from the hosts and translations of lyrics shown on the screen, she could understand the stories involved.

She summarized her feelings about the show by saying, "One of the things that touched me about the performance tonight was the values. We read the translation (on the screen). I felt its kindness and compassion. When the tenor sang, I wanted to find out more about the message he delivered. I seldom get to learn much about Chinese culture, but the show was so beautiful, so moving, and so visual. There was also peacefulness to it. I really enjoyed it. This was an entirely new experience."
