Assisting My Child in Her Cultivation

(Clearwisdom.net) All of my family members are Falun Dafa practitioners. My daughter started practicing when she was four years old. Now she is in middle school; both her school scores and moral standards are outstanding. Also, she is an obedient girl and her teachers praise her highly.

When she started elementary school, she had a great deal of homework, but I still insisted that, however briefly, she study the Fa every night. My daughter studied the Fa every night throughout her elementary school years. She also conducted herself according to the standard of Falun Dafa in her daily life. Whenever her classmates bullied her, she didn't argue with them. Her school scores were better than the other students in her entire grade level. Early on, my relatives had opposed my daughter practicing cultivation, but when they saw that she did much better than other students, they stopped opposing it. During this time, although she studied the Fa every night, she hardly practiced the exercises.

After few days after entering middle school, my daughter was very tired from the many classes and studying long hours. To resolve the problem, she proposed to practice the exercises for a half an hour and study the Fa for twenty minutes or a half hour daily. From the on, she has done the exercises, studied the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts every day. As a result, she is always full of energy for the whole day.

Since the beginning of her elementary school years, I had told her to pay close attention to her teachers' lectures in her classes and to do her homework carefully, because if she didn't study hard, it would be unfair to her schoolteachers as well as her parents. She would also lose virtue. I also advised her not to get too attached to her test scores. As her parents, we don't have expectations about her high school scores, though I once did have an attachment and, as a result, her score was not good. When this happened, my daughter and I both looked inward to find our attachments and subsequently removed them. As a result, her score improved. Now her scores are higher than other students in her grade level.

My daughter is tall and beautiful due to cultivating Falun Dafa. From an everyday person's view, she is wonderful, which also has been a positive influence in validating the Fa. Practitioners' children are definitely different from ordinary people's children. My relatives thought that I was doing a good job raising my child, so I took the opportunity to tell them that this was the result of practicing Falun Dafa.

Through my experience of raising my daughter, my advice is that young practitioners must study the Fa, practice the exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts. They should not watch TV or play games. If a young practitioner wants to read literature, the parents should read the book first to see whether it suits the young practitioner or not. A young practitioner that is outstanding in many respects will automatically validate the Fa.
