Ohio, US: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Sylvania Fall Festival Parade (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 19, Falun Gong practitioners from Ohio and Michigan participated in the Sylvania Fall Festival Parade. The practitioners' beautiful float, graceful exercise demonstration, and energetic waist drum performance received warm applause and high marks from the spectators.

The practitioners' procession was led by three giant Chinese characters: Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. Behind the characters came a giant Falun Dafa banner and then a beautiful decorated float. On the float, several practitioners performed the Falun Gong exercises, and their graceful demonstration received warm applause from the spectators. After the float, practitioners' waist drum troupe played "Falun Dafa is Good." Their coordinated performance attracted attention from many spectators.

Festival organizing committee Chairperson Jane Herwat said that this was the third time for Falun Gong to participate in this annual event and the practitioners were again very popular. She said: "Falun Gong not only brings us bright and colorful costumes, they also bring us oriental culture."

Jason Robert is the director of Sylvania Family Service Center, and he said: "The Falun Gong group brings oriental culture to our community. I like their costumes, they are very beautiful."

Spectator Julianne Sauford said that this parade was her favorite event. "Falun Gong is an outstanding group, their float is very beautiful, their costumes are very unique, and the waist drum performance is also excellent," said Julianne.

When the practitioners' procession passed by, a lady exclaimed: Wow! Wow! She asked in earnest what Falun Dafa is. A passing-by practitioner then gave her a Falun Gong flyer and told her about the health benefits of the practice. The practitioner also explained the meaning of the three giant Chinese characters : Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The lady then told the practitioner that the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance are what she has been looking for. She asked where she could learn the practice and left her contact information. In the end, she asked for more copies of the flyer, saying that she would share them with her friends and relatives and encourage all of them to practice Falun Dafa.

During the festival, a Divine Performing Arts Booth was set up to promote the show. Visitors were very impressed by the quality of the show. After watching a 3-minute promotional video, a gentleman said that it was very beautiful and he would buy tickets for his family. A lady said that she loved cultural performances. She used to live in California where she had more exposure to different cultural performances. She said that she was very happy to see that such a great performing arts company is coming to Ohio.
