Cherishing Our Responsibilities

(Clearwisdom.net) I read an article entitled "Responsibility" that was published on minghui.ca (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) on October 16, 2008, which was quite inspiring to me. For a long time, there have been some phenomena in our area that were less than ideal. I thought about communicating with practitioners about this, or writing down my thoughts, but ended up doing nothing. It seemed that I always encountered some obstacles. After reading that article, I suddenly realized that the key point was that we weren't recognizing our responsibilities as Dafa practitioners during this Fa-rectification period.

Currently, while explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to the public, if something doesn't go well, practitioners in our area tend to criticize each other, waste time trying to figure out whose fault it was, and forget to sincerely look inside themselves. Of course, everyone appears to look inward, and finds many human notions that are in the way. In theory, this should improve our coordination, since the more we examine our inner motivations, the more we should raise our levels. However, the more we looked inward, the more problems we found with each other, and the less we viewed ourselves as one body. In the end, people were actually communicating less and less.

This is the end stage of the Fa-rectification period. Practitioners around the world are doing their best, putting their best feet forward based on their levels, and trying to save as many sentient beings as possible. But the practitioners in our area still hold onto their own opinions, and have difficulty focusing on coordinating with each other, and saving fellow practitioners and ordinary people. For example, some would rather spend time playing mahjong rather than preparing Dafa information materials.

All that said, this is happening because we haven't clearly recognized our responsibilities for the Fa, for the universe, for sentient beings, and for the future. The situation can be viewed this way: If the great elimination happens now, huge numbers of sentient would be wiped out because we haven't taken our responsibility to let them know about the truth of Falun Dafa seriously. How would we feel if that happens?

If we are able to really sense what our responsibilities are, we will voluntarily work towards letting people know the truth about the goodness of Falun Dafa, spreading the Fa, doing the three things required by Teacher, and trying to save as many sentient beings as we can. Just as a practitioner said in the article, "...knowing our responsibilities is raising ourselves to a higher level, upgrading our xinxing, and recognizing Teacher's compassion and the omniscient power of the Fa." Let's cherish our responsibilities, wisely do the "three things" required by Teacher, and fulfill Teacher's expectations.
