(Clearwisdom.net) At 9 a.m. on October 30, 2008, personnel from the Li County Court in Hebei Province illegally sentenced practitioners Ms. Cui Xiaoxian, Ms. Cui Shumei, and Ms. Feng Wenzhen for the third time. The previous two times these three ladies, who are in their 50s, were also tried in the Li County Court but were not be convicted because their defense lawyer showed how police officer Wang Junchang had manufactured the evidence. The judge was supposed to release these three practitioners immediately, without any charges, but they have remained imprisoned for over a year now.

Here is what happened. Wang Junchang, captain of the Domestic Security Brigade of the Li County Public Safety Bureau, saw how his colleagues in other counties got promoted or were given monetary rewards for framing and gaining the convictions of Falun Gong practitioners. On September 19, 2007, Wang arrested the three elderly practitioners and confiscated their household properties. He and other police officers broke into Ms. Cui Shumei's house. They took cash and valuable goods such as a color TV, a DVD player, and a tricycle as they were searching the house. They even sold Ms. Cui's aluminum bucket and cardboard to those that collect recyclables and pocketed the money. When the police went to Ms. Feng's house, they did not show any ID before they confiscated her valuables such as a color TV and DVD player.

On December 14, 2007, the judge of the Li County court first tried the three ladies. The prosecutors did not have enough evidence against them. Wang did not follow legal procedures when he and other officers searched and confiscated these practitioners' belongings, and there was no third party witness at the scene or a list of confiscated goods signed by the family.

Ms. Cui Xiaoxian's husband, Mr. Zhang Xiangrui, had signed a list, but the list only noted a book and a few empty CD cases. All of her valuables were taken away in two black plastic bags. However, in the Statement of Charges, the contents of the list were changed. Mr. Zhang went to the Public Safety Bureau, the Procuratorate, and the court, asking them to confront Wang about the list of objects Wang had confiscated. In the end, Wang admitted he changed what was on the list to 100 books, 370 CDs, 50 tapes, and other items.

After the first trial failed to reach a guilty verdict, Wang made up more evidence, called the "seven pieces of evidence." On June 17, 2008, the second trial started. The seven pieces of evidence did not stand a chance. The day the evidence was listed was September 15, 2007, but these practitioners had been arrested on September 19, 2007! How could these pieces of evidence have been collected from the practitioners' homes before they were arrested? Also, personnel from the Domestic Safety Brigade of the Li County Public Safety Bureau provided the evidence in both trials, but the pieces of evidence were different and contradicted one another.

Ms. Cui Xiaoxian, though jailed, asked her family to donate 100 yuan to the victims of the earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province. How can a kind person as kind as this be framed and imprisoned and those that did this to her remain unaccountable?
