(Clearwisdom.net) While distributing truth-clarification materials on the night of October 12, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Ruigang from Anshan City of Liaoning Province was arrested by officers from Helan Police Station of Liaoyang County. An officer hit Mr. Li on the head using a wooden stick, knocking Mr. Li out. Mr. Li was then sent to the emergency room for revival. Despite refusal from the hospital, police forcefully sent Mr. Li to a detention center before he was discharged from intensive care. Mr. Li has been detained for over sixty days.
The court of Liaoyang County sentenced Mr. Li to a three-year prison term. Police then transferred Mr. Li to the prison. By this time, Mr. Li had been so severely tortured that he had become very weak and emaciated. The prison therefore refused to accept Mr. Li. Wu Dong, head of the 610 Office and deputy Party secretary of Liaoyang County, insisted that Mr. Li not be allowed bail for medical care. Wu even said that he would rather Mr. Li be tortured to death than have him released.
We hereby call on international human rights organizations and the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong to please help stop the criminal acts of persecution of Dafa practitioners by Wu Dong, head of the 610 Office, and that Mr. Li be released immediately without any conditions.
