Regarding Saving People and Minding Personal Safety

(Clearwisdom.net) Lately, I often read on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website or hear from fellow practitioners that practitioners are reported to police while clarifying the truth. Some were arrested and some were sentenced to forced labor. Besides finding ways to rescue fellow practitioners, we need to ask ourselves: the Fa-rectification is progressing faster and faster, why are practitioners still being persecuted? What is going on?

As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, our most important task is rescuing more and more people. That is the sacred mission Teacher has given to his disciples. Besides, our prehistorical vow included the task of saving sentient beings. We need to excel in this task. We are bound by our vow to save sentient beings, but to do so, we cannot neglect personal safety. Let me explain by example. When we are saving someone who is drowning, saving this person's life is the objective. But, we cannot let the person drag us down into the depths of the water. I am actually referring to being reported to police and subsequently persecuted. In order to save more people, practitioners have come up with many methods, and these methods have been quite effective in saving people. If so, why are practitioners still being reported to police and persecuted?

Practitioners often discuss this situation. They have come up with some reasons, such as having loopholes, not studying the Fa diligently, and not having strong enough righteous thoughts. Yet, when it comes to saving people, there are many practitioners who are doing very well. They have very solid faith in the Fa and state of mind. In most cases, those whom they have tried to save were saved successfully. Even when they encounter problems, they usually don't present real danger. One of the fundamental reasons for their success is that they study the Fa well and are therefore filled with the Fa, belief in Teacher and have strong righteous thoughts at all times. When one achieves this state of mind, all evildoers, rotten ghosts or dark minions disappear from sight.

"To tell you the truth, the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One)

Teacher has taught us the Fa. At this moment, Dafa disciples are quietly and steadily saving people. Yet, we cannot forget that saving people is also part of our cultivation. We must constantly give up human attachments. Teacher repeatedly told us that we need to look within when we encounter problems or are faced with conflicts. That's a "divine gift" to solve problems. If it is a "divine gift," we must use it constantly and use it well. As Master said, "with the master and the Fa here what is there to fear?" (Lecture in Sydney, 1996)

It is not a contradiction to talk about saving people and considering personal safety. Putting these two together demonstrates the importance of our responsibility, and the standard that is required of us is getting higher and higher. We have to understand that whenever we encounter problems when saving people, one of the most fundamental reasons is that we did not study the Fa well. Because we did not study the Fa well, there were loopholes that the dark minions and rotten ghosts could exploit. Therefore, as Fa-rectification period disciples, studying the Fa well, having steadfast belief in Teacher and having righteous thoughts are the guarantee for safely saving people.
