(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 28 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 54 practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during their detention and at least 42 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Twelve non-local Falun Gong practitioners detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp are on a collective hunger strike to protest being "illegally detained." The practitioners include:

(1) Mr. Chen Yan, in his 30s, from Jiamusi City. He was arrested for holding up banners in Beijing. He is now detained in the No. 1 Team of the No. 1 Ward.

(2) Mr. Han Ximin, in his 40s, from Lingyuan, Liaoning Province

(3) Mr. Shao Yu, in his 50s, from Dandong, Liaoning Province. He worked in Beijing and was transferred to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in August.

(4) Mr. Zhao Jian, 39 years old, from Hebei Province was detained in the No. 3 Team

(5) Mr. Yuan Yongsheng , 51, from Sanrenqiao in Beijing, was illegally detained in the No.3 Team

(6) Mr. Zhang Shuxing, in his 50s, was transferred from Dalian Forced Labor Camp to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in July

(7) Mr. Zheng Haitao, 39, was transferred from Tuanhe in Beijing to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on May 21. Mr. Chen Kaiqu, in his 30s and from Zhejiang, holds a Masters Degree. He was transferred from Tuanhe in Beijing to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on May 2.

Mr. Ren Xiaobei was an official working in the Longgang District Commerce and Industry Bureau in Huludiao City before being imprisoned. He has been sentenced to six and a half years of persecution at Huazi Prison in Liaoning, because he upheld Falun Gong. He was transferred from Huazi Prison in Liaoyang to Nanguanling Prison in December 2007.

They are from Longgang District of Huludao City. They were clarifying the truth of Falun Gong and persuading people to renounce the CCP when they were arrested.

Doctor Zhang Limin, about 65 years old and a practitioner, was taken by the police on January 21, 2008. She was a physician at an Orthopedics Clinic in the 7th district of Dongfengxincun, Daqing City before her arrest.

Ms. Yang Zehua was arrested at about 10 a.m. on the morning of January 24, 2008, while she was visiting Ms. Guan Yingxin in Ms. Guan's house. Now her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Yan Zehua, 56 years old, was the president of the worker's union of the Condiment Manufacturer in Heihe City. She was severely tortured from 2001 - 2003. She was kept at Women's prison of Heilongjiang Province because she upheld Falun Gong.

Guan Yingxin, 52 years old, was an analyst at the Condiment Manufacturer in Heihe City. She was sentenced to imprisonment from 2001- 2007, because she upheld Falun Gong. She was tortured for almost seven years at the Women's Prison of Heilongjiang Province and just released. However, she is still under surveillance by the authorities. Her family was destroyed by the persecution.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ding from Baiquan Town, Dongliao County was illegally arrested on January 23, 2008.

Practitioner Ms. Chen Hongli was arrested at her home at about 2:00 p.m. on the afternoon of January 22, 2008.

Ms. Ma Shujie, 38, was a teacher at Ximudan Elementary School in Mudanjiang City. Five municipal National Security police entered her house, claiming to be taking a census. Ms. Ma and her husband (a non-practitioner) were taken by force, and books, computers, truth-clarification materials, and other personal items were confiscated at about 10:00 a.m. on January 24, 2008.

Ms. Li Bingying from Babaixiang, Daqing City was sent to a forced labor camp on January 25, 2008.

Ms. Zhang Limin from Dongfengxincun, the Saertu District, was arrested on January 18, 2008.

There are many practitioners currently detained in Dalian Forced Labor Camp, including Mr.Wang Min, Mr.Bi Kefu, Mr. Liu Qingtao, Mr. Zhao Tao, Mr. Jiang Yihou, Mr.Wang Ke, Mr. Zhu Chengqian, Mr.Li Deqing, Mr. Wang Jinbo, Mr. Yang Jicheng, Mr. Yu Qiye, and Mr. Zhao Zhiming. Mr. Wang Min was persecuted to the point of mental collapse.

The following practitioners were transferred in 2007 from Dalian Forced Labor Camp to other places, and are still being detained: Mr. Gong Fajiu, Mr.Lin Weizhu, Mr. Zhang Guoyu [Benxi Forced Labor Camp], Mr. Zhang Shuxing, Mr. Cui Dejun, Mr. Liu Qing, and Mr. Li Xuejin (Masanjia Forced Labor Camp).

Ms. Guo Ren'ai, in her 50s, is a retired teacher from the No. 4 High School of Forestry Administration in Huanan and a Falun Gong practitioner. She was unjustly arrested by the local police on the afternoon of January 24, 2008.

A group of police officers raided Ms. Su Guiling's home at 9:00 p.m. on January 17, 2008. She is in her 50s and lives on Beizhuling Street in the Hongqiao District of Tianjin City. They took all of her Dafa books, truth-clarification materials, and all the equipment for installing satellite receivers. She is being detained at the Hongqiao Branch of the Public Security Bureau Detention Center.

Ms. Huang Zunling and Ms. Huang Zunjing are from Wangqingtuo in the Wuqing District. The two sisters were both taken in a raid by the vice squad of the Wangqingtuo Police station. Two young children were at home with an older, invalid father at about 10:00 a.m. on January 23, 2008. The computer and printer in Huang Zunjing's house were taken.

Ms. Zhang Lijuan was taken by the police from the 610 Office in Jiuting Town in the Songjiang District on December 24, 2007. Now she is detained at Songjiang Detention Center.

The police illegally arrested Yao Juying on January 18, 2008. Ms. Yao's situation is unknown.

Ms. Zhao Shuqin was arrested at about 6:00 p.m. on January 24, 2008.

Mr. Xu Chenzao, Ms. Zhang Ziyun, and Ms. Yao Guiyun from Shunyi District, Beijing, were illegally sentenced to two and a half years of imprisonment in a forced labor camp. They are currently detained in the Daxing Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Yue Yanping, from Zhoukou City of Hancheng County, was set free after being held for five days. Currently detained are two practitioners in the women's ward of the county detention center. One is Ms. Wu Fengying and the other's name is unknown.

Ms. Cui Yinxia was arrested while she was posting truth-clarification material at the Xinzhongyi Town police station on the evening of January 21, 2008.

Ms. Wang Guiling worked in the Popedom Restaurant at the Qingliangsi Street Affairs Office of Zhuozhou City. She was reported to the police while trying to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa on January 17, 2008. She was arrested by police from the Zhuozhou City Qingliangsi Police Station at about 7:00 p.m. The police confiscated Dafa books, pictures of Teacher, two MP3's, and other items.

Mr. Liu Jun was reported to the police while passing out truth-clarification materials in the Taoyuan District of Zhuozhou City at 9:00 a.m. on January 22, 2008. He was arrested by the Taoyuan Police in Zhuozhou City. He returned home on the evening of January 23, 2008.

Mr. Liu Hongxin, 73, Ms. Li Yingju, and Ms. Li Haijing were reported to the police while clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa to the members of the Changbai of Shougang Group in Nandaihe at about 5:00 p.m. on January 20, 2008. Several policemen from the Nandaihe Police Station and the National Security Brigade went to the house of Liu Hongxin and Li Yingju (husband and wife), where they took all the Dafa books, computers, tape-recorders, tapes, ID cards, and other personal items. At 1:00 a.m. that morning, Liu Hongxin was sent home, while the other two were taken to the National Security Brigade.

Ms. Yuan Yingguo, from Maitian Village of Gaocun Town, was arrested by the local police on January 19, 2008.

On the morning of January 17, 2008, police from the Public Security Bureau of Luyi County went to Wangtai Village and arrested Ms. Hu Xiuqin at her home. The police then arrested Ms. Hu's husband (a non-practitioner) at their house. The police also arrested Ms. Bian Guiying at her home on the morning of January 23, 2008.

It was recently learned that Ms. Zhang Jun (about 60 years old) was secretly arrested by Xinqiao National Security Brigade in Xinqiao, Gaoxin District, on July 19, 2007. Ms. Zhang is a retired worker from Chang'an Automobile Co., LTD and is now detained in Huaxinjie Detention Center of Jiangbei District.

Mr. Lu Weiwen was arrested by the police early on the morning of January 20, 2008, while posting truth-clarification materials. That same day, his wife and Ms. Ayan, who works in their shop, were taken from the couple's home by the Hongji police in Zhongshan. Mr. Lu is now being detained in the detention center while Ms. Dong and Ms. Ayan are detained at the police station.

Ms. Wei Peiling was arrested at her home on September 23, 2007. There was an unconstitutional trial scheduled for her in the Procuratorate and Court of Yuexiu District on January 30, 2008. The results of that trial are unknown at this time.

Mr. Fang Zhengping from Xichang was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment beginning January, 2008. He was sent to No. 1 Prison of Yunnan Province.

Mr. Long Xianjun, from Tianhui Town, was arrested by the police for posting articles to clarify the truth of Falun Gong in January 2008. Mr. Zhang Yuqun, Mr. He Sen, and Mr. Wang Ming were arrested by Yuling Police Station officers because they were clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa.

Mr. Chen Hu, Ms. Wen Shumei, Ms. Yu Shengbi, Mr. Taosheng, and other practitioners from Oubei Town of Yonjia County were taken in a raid involving more than 100 police officers from Oubei Town of Yongjia County in January, 2008.

Kunming Municipal Intermediate People's Court held a secret trial to (unconstitutionally) try the case of Ms. Shi Yun at 2:00 p.m. on January 9, 2008. A judge announced that Ms. Shi Yun was sentenced to a seven-year prison term, which Ms. Shi Yun would not accept. She will appeal to the People's Procuratorate of Yunnan Province.

Ms. Su Kun was arrested on January 6, 2004. She has been held at the No. 2 Forced Labor Camp of Yunnan Province. She was confined in a cell, beaten by prisoners at the direction of police officials, deprived of sleep, forced to stand still in a graveyard at night, and many other torments too numerous to list. This caused a lot of mental anguish. Her release date was December 5, 2007, but she is still being detained in the forced labor camp. They refuse to set her free.

Ms. Zhang Fengqin works for the Farm Machinery Bureau in Ning'er County. She was arrested by the Public Security Bureau in Ning'er County on June 5, 2006, and sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Court of Yunnan Province.

Ms. Lu Rongfang and Ms. Zhang Qin worked at the Worm-glue factory of Ning'er County. They were arrested by agents from the Public Security Bureau of Ning'er County on May 18, 2006. Ms. Lu was sentenced to a four-year prison term and Ms. Zhang to a three-year prison term by the Court of Yunnan Province.

Mr. Su Zesheng, a doctor at the People's Hospital of Ning'er County, was arrested by agents of the Public Security Bureau of Ning'er County. He was sentenced to a one-year prison term by the Court of Yunnan. He was released but expelled from the public file.

Ms. Lu Guihua works at the Radio and Television Bureau. She was arrested by agents of the Public Security Bureau of Ning'er County on May 18, 2006. She was sentenced to one year in a prison camp by the Court of Yunnan and was set free.

60-year old practitioner Ms. Li and her husband from Shenzhen were arrested on November 20, 2007. The older couple is seriously ill, but the police from Shenzhen continue to persecute them. Why? Because they refuse to renounce their faith in the practice of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

Mr. Hao Yongsheng was arrested in November 2007 and now his whereabouts are unknown.

Ms.Mou Caifen and Ms. Xia Yulan, from Mao'ershi in the Jiangbei District of Chongqing City, were taken to the Huaxin Street Police Station in the Jiangbei District by seven or eight joint defense personnel at about 10:00 a.m. on January 21, 2008. They were distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials near the Huaxin Street Detention Center in the Jiangbei District. That night they were taken to Huaxin Street Detention Center there in the Jiangbei District.

Mr. Xie Peizeng, Mr. Zheng Guiyou, and Ms. Wu Zhujun were arrested on July 9, 2007. They were held for more than four months. The Court of Huidong County in Guangdong were to hold court on January 28, 2008. The results are unknown at this time.

Ms. Zhou Guohua was followed to her school and then to her house. She was arrested by the police when she was telling people the truth of Falun Gong in front of the Taicang Supermarket in mid-October 2006. She was locked up for five days.

Ms. Zhou clarified the truth about Falun Gong to someone in front of the Caicang People's Hospital. The person followed her. Ms. Zhou was illegally arrested in public at the trade fair, and her Dafa books were confiscated in mid-December 2007. She was abused and terrified by five agents from the domestic security brigade and 610 Office at the police station for several hours. She was then held for ten days.

A poster appeared announcing, "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang Zemin to justice" on the bulletin board in Ms. Liu Weishan's workplace in 2000. Ms. Liu's bosses and 610 Office personnel grabbed her on her way to work. She could only get a paycheck for 100 yuan per month after she was released from prison due to her health from a hunger strike, so she went to the home of everyone who worked with her and told them the truth about her persecution. She wrote a petition to the Public Security Bureau. Soon, she was illegally arrested again and taken to the Xiangfan Municipal Forced Labor Camp to be confined in an iron cage for a long time. The iron cage is so small that she could not stand up, only half squat. She kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is good!" Later, she was sent to Wuhan Women's Prison, where she held a hunger strike. The police took her by force to a hospital, where she was injected with unknown drugs, which on the second day caused her to act erratically. She was sent back to the No. 364 Hospital in Xiangfan City. At present, she suffers from paralysis.

Ms. Li Jingping, an employee of the Power Supply Bureau, was reported because she explained the truth about Falun Gong to people. She is being held at a detention center. She was released on the afternoon of January 14, 2008, as a result of holding a hunger strike.

Mr. Xu Zhibin and Mr. Miao Junjie were transferred Jinzhou Prison of Liaoning Province. Mr. Xu was detained at the No. 7 Ward of Jinzhou Prison. Mr. Miao was held at the No. 10 Ward of Jinzhou Prison.
