Persecution Suffered by Two Practitioners in Yi County, Liaoning Province

Ms. Gan Zhixi Sentenced to Labor Camp Twice

Ms. Gan Zhixi, 64-years-old, lives in Dayubu Town, Yi County, Liaoning Province. After the persecution of Falun Gong was launched on July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. When she returned home from Beijing, officers of the Dayubu Town Police Station sent her to brainwashing classes, where she was deprived of sleep. She was released two days later.

On September 22, 1999, after Ms. Gan returned home from Beijing, she went to the town government offices to clarify the truth. She was taken to the Yi County Detention Center by officers of the Dayubu Town Police Station and detained for 17 days. She was released only after 1,360 yuan was extorted from her. On October 13, 1999, Ding Guangyou (male), an officer of the Zhendong Police Station in Yi County, took her to the Yi County Detention Center, where she was detained for five and a half months. This time,1,250 yuan was extorted from her.

On October 6, 2000, Ms. Gan tried to go to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong. She was intercepted in Jinzhou Station and taken to the Yi County Detention Center by Li Hua (male), director of the Dayubu Town Police Station, and officer Dong Dafu (male). After being detained for more than one month, she was sentenced to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for three years.

In 2003, Zhou (male) and Wu Jingping (male), officers of the Dayubu Town Police Station repeatedly called her at her home to harass her.

In March, 2005, Ms. Gan was taken into custody by four officers of the Yi County Police Department, among them was Li Honggang (male), and she was detained in the Yi County Detention Center. Three days later, she was sentenced to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for one and a half years. She was released eight months later.

Persecution of Ms. Chu Hongfen by State Security Division in Yi County

Ms. Chu Hongfen, 50-years-old, was a sickly person. When she began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, her health was restored to her and she benefited both mentally and physically.

On the night of June 10, 2003, Wang Zhanlin (male), officer of the State Security Division in Yi County, along with seven or eight officers, broke into Ms. Chu's home. She was taken to the office of the Yi County Police Department and interrogated through the night. A short officer and officer Guo (male) deprived her of sleep by hitting her with a stick and beating her face with a book. The two officers demanded that she scold Teacher Li. She was also handcuffed twice.

The next day, she was taken to the office of the State Security Division. Li Chunyu (male) interrogated her through one day and half of the night and prohibited her from going to restroom. At midnight, she was taken to the Yi County Detention Center, and detained there for 14 days. She was released after 1,000 yuan was extorted from her.
