Firmly Cultivating on the Righteous Path

(Clearwisdom.net) I began cultivation practice during the winter of 2002. With Master's protection, I have walked a bumpy road for five years, but in the righteous direction. Master had saved me from hell and purified me, one who would not even have qualified to be called a human being. I cannot describe my appreciation for what Master has given me.

My initial cultivation was off and on for about one year. I became diligent in 2006 when I became aware of the importance of Fa study. Due to my lack of diligence in that first year, the evil forces took advantage of me. I was unlawfully detained for more than a month in 2005 and was in fear after my release. I feared the police, or police cars, whenever I saw them. Nevertheless, I persisted in participating in the group Fa study twice a week with two other practitioners, and never skipped. During the Fa study, we exchanged cultivation experiences and helped each other to better understand the Fa. Nearly six months of Fa study and experience sharing helped me find the righteous way. It was just like Master had said, "The Fa can break all attachments..." ("Drive Out Interference," Essentials for Further Advancement II) From that moment, I felt that I was a true Dafa disciple.

My physical condition prevented me from going out to rectify the Fa. I realized that the police would come and persecute me again if there was no exposure of their evil acts. Master had recently told us in a lecture to get back up if we have fallen, instead of wallowing in our mistakes. I decided to tell the facts about Falun Gong by sending hand-written letters. I wrote a letter to the police first and continued writing letters to them, to compassionately warn them of the incidents of karmic retribution. I received positive feedback. I also wrote letters explaining the facts to people at different levels. The letters provided the recipient a chance at salvation. After reading my letter, a detention center head told 610 Office officials he would not longer accept any Falun Gong practitioners at his center.

My mind was calm when writing these letters to explain the facts. My mind was filled with powerful righteous thoughts. We were in a town where only three practitioners live. Many people were afraid of reading Dafa materials, but they were able to read a hand-written letter that did not contain Dafa materials. Writing such a letter was an efficient way for those who were afraid to learn the truth.

The three of us in this town worked as one body. Once, leaders of one practitioner's workplace had planned to turn us in to the police. As we discussed this, we sent righteous thoughts together to dissolve their evil thoughts and wrote a letter to them. The leaders abandoned their evil intention. After this happened, we continued writing the letters to them, warning them with examples of karmic retribution that happened around them. After this the persecutors became less aggressive.

My first five years of cultivation left me with some regrets. I lost many opportunities to offer people salvation. I had not planned to write this experience sharing, but felt my experience might awaken many more practitioners and caution them not to make the same mistakes. Because of fear I have let many opportunities slip away.
