(Clearwisdom.net) At 6:30 p.m. on April 23, 2008, before the first performance of the Chinese Spectacular at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, the hosting organization held a reception for more than one hundred guests, including local VIPs, reporters, artists, diplomats, sponsors, and government officials.

Paramount Theatre is one of the well-known theaters in Seattle. The host of the reception introduced New Tang Dynasty TV Station (NTDTV) and Divine Performing Arts (DPA) and welcomed everyone to the evening's performance.
Richard Conlin of the Seattle City Council said that he represented the people of Seattle in welcoming Divine Performing Arts to the city. He indicated that the people of Seattle, the City Council, and City Government respect Chinese culture and were pleased to welcome Divine Performing Arts to Seattle.
Mr. Conlin said he appreciated NTDTV for sponsoring the Chinese Spectacular and said he was bringing his whole family to see the show.
Michael Killoren, Director of the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, represented the mayor in welcoming DPA to Seattle. He spoke about Seattle as being a well-established arts and cultural center and said he was sure the audience would really enjoy the show.
Vina Lee, Assistant Company Manager of DPA, also spoke at the reception. She said, "Traditional Chinese culture was almost completely destroyed by the Cultural Revolution. The mission of our performance is to revive traditional Chinese culture and the values of pure grace, kindness, sincerity, and human dignity. I hope everyone enjoys the performance tonight."
Dr. Chen Zhiping from the Western US Falun Dafa Association, one of the hosting organizations, also gave a speech and introduced the practice of Falun Dafa.
Governor Christine O. Gregoire of Washington State welcomed Divine Performing Arts to the Paramount Theatre. Governor Gregoire said that DPA promoted the colorful and rich Chinese culture and history through graceful music and dance. She congratulated the director, the performers, and the behind-the-scenes contributors for making each performance so wonderful.
Vice Governor Brad Owen also welcomed DPA and extended his best wishes for a successful performance.
