I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Yi County, and have benefited physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. However, after Jiang's regime began the persecution on July 20, 1999, I was illegally arrested. It happened when I went to Beijing and to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. The persecutors detained me at the Fengtai gymnasium for a night, where police forbade us to sleep. I was later on held at the County Detention Center for more than a month. The captors released me after police had extorted my family for 800 yuan without providing a receipt. They also confiscated 50 yuan and other valuable belongings during a home search.

I was arrested again and detained for three days at my village. Another time, village official Ma Guangjun and four police officers searched my home. Ma Guangjun stayed in my house for one day to monitor my activities. Thereafter, the local police frequently visited my family and harassed us, which resulted in severe distress to my family and me.

I am also a Falun Gong practitioner from Yi County who benefited physically and mentally from Falun Gong practice. After July 20, 1999, Chende police officials arrested me because I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was detained at a movie theater and transferred back to the Yi County Zhendong Police Station. Police officer Dong Jianhua questioned me and tried to force me to give up Falun Gong.

In 2000, police officer Dong Jianhua and other police officers came to my house and harassed my family. In 2001 Chenguan Village police officer Dosong brought several others to my home. They threatened my family and slandered Falun Gong.

I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Dayubao Township in Yi County. When I was on my way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, county police stopped and detained me at the township police station. I was forced to attend a brainwashing session and they said I had to write a "guarantee letter" to give up my Falun Gong practice. I refused and clarified the truth of Falun Gong. They refused to listen and instead they sent me to the County Detention Center where I was held for 14 days. While there, my seven-year-old child could not go to school and stayed at a relative's home. My family had to pay a 1,225-yuan "fine" to get me released.

In the following years, whenever any sensitive dates approached, the local officials and police would harass me. I was forced to either attend a brainwashing session or had to report to the local officials, which resulted in mental trauma for my family and me.

I am a practitioner from Guanxiang and have cultivated in Falun Gong since 1996. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, I suffered from many illnesses, especially kidney disease, from which it took a long time to recover. In 1995, I had my left kidney removed, but the illness recurred in 1996. I was very fortunate to start practicing Falun Gong then, and within less than six months I was healthy. Master Li gave me my life back. Many of my relatives started practicing Falun Gong after they saw what a good thing had happened to me.

When the CCP regime began the persecution, because I knew the goodness of Falun Gong, I decided to go to Beijing and validate Falun Gong with my own experiences. I was unexpectedly arrested and detained at the Zhendong Police Station for a night. Police officer Ci Guangyo questioned me. I was arrested again on October 22, 1999 when I attempted to go to Beijing to appeal for justice. I was held at the County Detention Center for forty-three days. I was released once my family paid a 1,300-yuan "fine" to Political and Security Division head Yang Yuxiang. The police did not issue a receipt. Yang has since died as a result of karmic retribution for his crimes against Dafa.

On June 20, 2002, Zhendong Police head Xu Daizhi and another eight other police officers searched my home and confiscated my copy of Zhuan Falun.

In June 2002, agents from the county police arrested my brother and incarcerated him at the Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp for a two-year sentence. Because a practitioner escaped from the camp with the power of strong righteous thoughts, police from the county and the labor camp came to my home and harassed my family. I refused to cooperate with them and told them that "good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with retribution!"

In 2004, agents from the county 610 Office, from the Politics and Law Committee and from the Police Department wanted to hold a brainwashing session at the Party School. That led to the capture of another practitioner and me. We refused to cooperate with their plans to brainwash us and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to them. As result we returned home safely.

5. Arrest Followed by Extortion

I have practiced Falun Gong since 1999. Since then my illnesses of hypertension, urethritis, and insufficient blood circulation in the brain disappeared. Being illness-free made me feel great and energetic. However, after July 20, 1999, I let the neighborhood administrators dupe me into going to the neighborhood administration office. Once there I was detained and they forced me to write the "guarantee letter" to give up Falun Gong and not go to Beijing to appeal. I was brainwashed and my insufficient understanding of Falun Gong at that time made me sign the guarantee letter, which left a stain on my cultivation path. I regretted this very much.

In 2001, the county police broke into my house, illegally arrested me and held me at the Yi County Detention Center. While I was there, the police frequently visited my family. My husband was afraid and paid a large bribe to Zhang Yanfu from the Political and Security Division, without getting a receipt, to get me released. Once I was home again, neighborhood administrators and local agents from the Zhenxi Police Station often came to my house to monitor my activities and harass me. They put a lot of pressure on me, but I insisted on continuing cultivation practice, and have not given up.

I have practiced Falun Gong since 1998 and have experienced Dafa's mighty power. Since beginning the practice, my old illnesses such as neuraxitis, rhinitis, nephritis, and other problems were healed. I felt healthy for the first time in my life and also gained mental benefits. I understood the purpose of human life -- to return to our origin.

I did not comprehend the persecution that began on July 20, 1999. Why was such a great cultivation method suddenly not allowed? I persisted in telling everyone, "Falun Gong is good! Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance are great!" and continued cultivation practice.

In 2004, when I handed out truth-clarification flyers, Zhenxi police officer Du Qang arrested me. Du Qang and other Zhenxi Police Station officers handcuffed me, slapped my face, kicked me and made me bend down, and slandered me. I couldn't believe that modern police officers could be this crude and bullying. Because I refused to provide my name and refused to sign a letter to give up the practice, the captors held me at the County Detention Center. I refused to cooperate with them, and held a hunger strike in protest. This led to my being held for a month, and I was sentenced to one year of forced labor. I was initially supposed to be incarcerated at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, but was not accepted because I did not pass the physical exam. Then the police forced my husband to pay a 3,000-yuan "fine" to Li Chuenyu and Wang Zhanlin, without getting a receipt, before I was released.

After I returned home, the police illegally searched my house twice and confiscated Master Li's new articles and Falun Gong informational materials.
