(Clearwisdom.net)On May 17, the Global Quitting the CCP (Tuidang) Service Center organized a rally outside the Flushing Public Library to celebrate 36 million withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party's organizations (CCP). A giant banner which read, "The CCP Is to Be Destroyed by Heaven, Quit the CCP for a Safe Future" was displayed and many posters documenting atrocities committed by the CCP were also on display.

On November 4, 2004, the Epoch Times published the first of a series of editorials, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, which analyzed the history and nature of the CCP. These editorials have inspired Chinese people around the world to rethink their views of the CCP and many have consequently quit the party and its affiliated organizations. To date, more than 36 million people have done so.
At the rally, representatives from several groups spoke to support the movement to quit the CCP and to urge people to see the evil nature of the CCP.
Hostess Anna said that the CCP has run numerous political campaigns and persecution against different groups ever since it took power in 1949. At least 80 million Chinese people have died as the consequence of these persecutions, not even counting the huge number of families that were broken apart. Anna encouraged Chinese people to read the Nine Commentaries and to make a conscientious choice.
Host Steve stated, "I hope everyone understands that human rights is not about 'playing politics'. It is a universal value. We are not against the Chinese people. Instead, we truly care for their welfare and we know that they have suffered tremendously and are still suffering under the tyranny of the CCP."
Dr. Damon gave his reason to quit the CCP. As a doctor, he condemned the CCP for its atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, and urged Chinese people to learn more about the true story of the CCP.
Dr. David Li, a representative from the Global Tuidang Service Center, congratulated people who had quit the CCP: "I congratulate all of you who have bravely renounced your membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I admire you all for your courage and your contribution to a free China. Fundamentally, as you have found out, the CCP is the root cause of many catastrophes happening in China. Chinese people, please join these 36 million fellow countrymen and countrywomen to quit the party and secure a good future."
