78 Year-old Woman Walks Her Path of Cultivation

I am a 78-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner in Hunan Province. I obtained the Fa in 1998. I would like to share my cultivation experiences with you in the following paragraphs.

Before I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998, I had many illnesses such as cerebral concussion, omarthritis, heart disease, lung abscess, gastroptosia, anemia, etc. My body was very weak. In the summer, I had to wear cotton clothes and hats. I spent more than 4,000 yuan each year on medical expenses. In 1994, after my husband died, my relationship with my children got worse. Living a better-dead-than-alive life, I repeatedly thought of suicide. Whenever I attempted to kill myself, there was always a force that pulled me back.

On March 17, 1998, my brother and sister-in-law advised me to practice Falun Gong. That same morning, I went to the County Stadium to watch Master's video lectures. First I was in tears, and then, a few minutes later, I couldn't open my eyes, and I wanted to sleep. I experienced very strong physical reactions.

After that, I attended the group practice at the local practice site each day. I met many veteran practitioners who selflessly gave me a lot of help. After I practiced for a period of time, I had loose bowels. This symptom lasted for over a week. However, I was finally healed by Master. A month later, my omarthritis disappeared.

My body became very light, and I no longer had to spend a penny on medical expenses. Seeing the unbelievable changes in me, my family strongly supported my doing the practice. My neighbors also saw the magical power of Dafa. They said that I became a new person. My walk, talk, and complexion had changed completely. Because I had my good health, I could help with the household chores. My family was very pleased, and our relationship improved drastically. The relationship between me and my neighbors also became more harmonious.

I thank Master for giving me a second life.

On December 26, 2000, some fellow practitioners and I went to Beijing to clarify the truth of the persecution to people there. The police illegally arrested us and sent us to the Office of Affairs of Hunan in Beijing. We saw that some practitioners from Hunan Province were already detained there. From our sharing, we learned that many practitioners had already gone to Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice. However, we got arrested even before we even set foot in Beijing. We hadn't accomplished our goal. Therefore, we decided to get out of the detention center and go to Tiananmen Square. When evening came, we tried to open the window to escape. Looking at the thick bars covering the window, we silently prayed for help. Amazingly, with Master's help, we bent down a half-inch-thick iron bar. We started getting out of the confinement cell. There was a practitioner who was very chubby and got stuck between the rails. I pushed her from behind. She finally went through. Five of us finally got out of the detention center and successfully went to Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa. Later, we learned that this incident had shocked the authorities in the Office of Affairs of Hunan Province. Some said that, "Falun Gong people have supernatural powers." Their words spread to the County police as well. The personnel in the 610 Office were also shocked. We enlightened to the fact that because we firmly believed in Master, He had made this miracle possible.

After we came back from validating the Fa in Beijing, the police arrested us and put us in a brainwashing center to force us to renounce our faith. The police constantly instilled lies and played videos meant to slander Dafa. They used all kinds of tricks to try to "transform" us. Although we hadn't learned how to send righteous thoughts to eliminate evil at that time, we firmly believed in Dafa. We knew that we hadn't done anything bad, and that our lives were rescued by Dafa. Thus, we didn't cooperate with the police. We didn't listen to their lies, watch their videos, or sign any "transformation papers." We tried to reason with them rationally. In the end, because of our steadfast faith in Master and Dafa, the brainwashing session came to a shameful collapse after 109 days. Not even one of us compromised with the police.

I was arrested 12 times, and I was detained in nine different places. It seemed arduous. Because I had faith in Master and Dafa, I overcame one tribulation after another.

I wanted to save my family and neighbors. My family saw how Dafa changed me, so they have no doubts about Dafa. They detest the persecution, and all of them have withdrawn from the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. I go door-to-door to my neighbors to clarify the facts. Afterward they were immune to the lies and control of the CCP. My surroundings have formed a huge righteous field, improving the environment nearby. A local party official often came to harass me at my home. After she learned the truth from the neighbors, she said, "These (Falun Gong) people are good people. I won't give you a hard time from now on." Last time, she came to my home and gave me a pack of tea. She said, "This tea is for Dafa disciples to show my respect and sincerity to you." I felt very happy because she had created a good future for herself.

In October 2005, several District police came to search my house, and they tried to take away my Dafa books. My son was very upset. He went up, grasped the policeman by his chest, and said, "Is my mother breaking the law just by reading?" The neighbors also condemned the police. The police called in three other police vehicles and dozens of police officers. They acted very aggressively and wanted to arrest him. Many neighbors gathered around. In a crowd of more than a hundred people, I told them how Dafa has changed me, and how the CCP has persecuted Dafa and me. One older woman came out and pointed at the police, saying, "You are bad people. This practitioner is almost 80 years old. Is reading the book at home breaking the law? What kind of bad deeds has Falun Gong done?" Because of the condemnations and criticism of the public, the police left in silence.

I am a retired factory worker. I returned to my hometown after I retired. I haven't seen my colleagues for decades, but I found them and clarified the truth to them. They were saved after they learned the truth.

Master, please be reassured. I will listen to you and cultivate in Dafa to the very end.
