Mr. Shen Jian, His Wife Ms. Zhu Xunqing, and His Brother Shen Xiangjun Arrested in Zibo City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Shen Jian, 45, and his wife Ms. Zhu Xunqing, 43, are residents of the Zicheng Community in Zichuan District, Zibo City. The couple is very friendly and easygoing. For the past few years, they have been working for a construction materials business. They make fair transactions, serve customers warmly and their clients speak well of them. However, these good people were arrested on the night of May 18, 2008 by agents from the National Security Division of the Zichuan Police Department, under the orders of the 610 Office.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., on May 18, the couple drove to drop off their child at school. As soon as they got back and were about to walk through their front door, they were surrounded by a group of people who identified themselves as police officers from the Zichuan District Department. Mr. Shen and his wife were pushed into the police vehicle without seeing any paperwork. While this was happening, their family heard what was going on and tried to stop it. Neighbors and other people who passed by were all angry and criticized the police officers' actions. Then more than ten police vehicles arrived, and dozens of people began brutally putting Mr. Shen Jian, Ms. Zhu Xunqing, Mr. Shen Bing (Mr. Shen's nephew, who does not practice Falun Gong), Mr. Gao Nan (Mr. Shen's nephew, a non-practitioner) into the police vehicles. Mr. Liu Sigen, a person who cleaned up trash in the district (55 years old, a non-practitioner) simply said, "At present, police officers are bad because they do not arrest bad people; instead, they specifically arrest good people." He was also arrested by these police officers. Currently, Ms. Zhu Xunqing is detained at the Zibo City Detention Center in Fujia Town, Zhangdian District and four others are detained at the Zichuan Detention Center.

Mr. Liu Sigen's wife was told that if she paid 300 yuan, Mr. Liu would be released. She paid in full and was required to sign some paperwork. Because she is illiterate, she simply signed without knowing the details of the document. Police officers then told her that her husband was arrested and detained, and it was impossible to release him.

On the morning of May 23, 2008, Mr. Shen Jian's older brother, Mr. Shen Xiangjun, was also arrested by agents from the Zichuan National Security Division.

Mr. Shen Xiangjun, 56, is an employee of the Beiguan Elementary School in Zichuan District. In 2001, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor. In late 2006, he was again sentenced to 20 months of forced labor. At the Shandong Province Second Labor Camp (Wangchun Labor Camp), he was tortured so badly he developed high blood pressure and diabetes. He was released in June 2007.

Without showing any legal paperwork, the agents from the Zibo City National Security Division arrested these people. The next day, their family members were told that they were held at the notorious Zibo City Legal Education Center (a brainwashing center) and were charged 5,000 yuan.
