Stories from the Earthquake Zone

(Clearwisdom.net) Thousand of lives disappeared in a flash during the earthquake in China's Sichuan Province on May 12, 2008. The tragedy is difficult to describe with words; so many endured so much pain and suffering. Yet my relatives and friends who live close to the epicenter survived without injury, although their houses suffered varying degrees of damage. Even their chickens and dogs were safe. How did they manage to escape this disaster alive? I believe it might have something to do with the fact that they all know the truth about Falun Gong and had renounced their CCP membership. They enjoyed the protection of our great, benevolent Master.

My uncle had not only renounced his CCP membership, but also had accepted the Falun Gong talisman I gave him. He also read the book Zhuan Falun. On the day of the earthquake my uncle wanted to take a nap, afternoon naps being his habit. Just as he removed his shirt, someone outside shouted to join them and play cards. My uncle went along. The earthquake happened as he held the cards and was about to play. Since my uncle was out of doors, he was not injured when the house collapsed. He said after the incident, "Master Li saved my life. I am very grateful. It couldn't be just a coincidence! Just when I wanted to take a nap, someone came to ask me outside."

My aunt was in poor health at the time. Last year, my practitioner mother returned to her hometown to visit her relatives and told my aunt the truth about Falun Gong. She asked her to recite, "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good!" telling her it would bring her good fortune and safety. Sometime later my aunt told my mother, "Those words are really miraculous; now I recite the words every day and feel light and comfortable. I feel energetic, although I did a lot of chores. Young people ask me where I get all my energy from." My mother smiled and replied, "Yes. Falun Dafa is the genuine Buddha Fa, thus there is such great power." My aunt thus recited, "Falun Dafa is Good" with even more sincerity and respect every day. My mother also gave my aunt a Falun Gong talisman that she carried around with her every day.

My father was worried about my aunt during the earthquake. He said that their house was unstable and would most probably have collapsed, and they would most probably have lost their lives. But my auntie called the next day and reported that the whole family is alive and well. She said she would usually have been at home at the hour the quake happened, feeding the pigs. But that day she thought to do outside chores and had fed the pigs earlier, at noon, and then left the house. None of the rest of the family was injured, either. The house was damaged, but miraculously, the room that my auntie lived in did not collapse. The food, refrigerator and other daily necessities are stored in my auntie's room; thus the disaster aftermath did not much affect their daily lives. Another miracle happened - the whole pig sty collapsed, making my aunt think the pigs had died. She discovered all of them still alive. Some piglets were only a few days old and were buried under the mess, but were alive two days later when they were dug out.

My young uncle knows the truth about Falun Gong and has renounced his CCP membership. He has the habit of taking afternoon naps. But the day of the earthquake he found it difficult to stay inside and had gone to do outside chores. Thus he also escaped disaster. Although the chickens my uncle raised were buried under the ruins, after digging them out they were all alive.

Stories like this lead me to more firmly believe in the power of Dafa, and Teacher's benevolent protection coming to all who believe in their hearts, "Falun Dafa is good."
