By a practitioner from China's Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) I had the good fortune to start practicing Falun Dafa in 2006. Some time before that, my parents had passed away, first one, then the other. In the intervening years, I felt very depressed, and I often lost my temper in front of my husband and children. They didn't like me. A practitioner lent me the book Zhuan Falun, and after reading it, I started to realize my problem. I apologized to my family and from then on I behaved as I understood a practitioner should. In the meantime, I felt grateful for the help of the practitioner who had lent me the book.

With that person's help, I finally obtained my own copy of Zhuan Falun. I read it with great thirst, feeling like an orphan who has wandered around for many years and finally found family. I didn't know how to express this but to say in my heart, "Master, thank you, thank you for pointing the way home to me." Dafa is something I've really been looking for. I will strive hard to follow Master home.

Later I obtained a copy of Hong Yin and other articles written by Master. I will cherish this predestined relationship, study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth. Though at first I could not clarify the truth to people face to face, I wrote truth-clarifying phrases on currency. I know that it's urgent to save sentient beings. Though I understand some of the principles of the Fa, I could not explain them to others clearly. So I began to tell my family and others I met about the changes I experienced after I started to practice Falun Dafa - how my bad temper lessened and my health improved. I helped them to understand the beauty and wonder of Dafa, and helped them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its related organizations in order to safeguard their lives and be saved.

In the article "Solid Cultivation" (Hong Yin), Master said,

"Study the Fa and gain the Fa, Focus on how you study and cultivate, Let each and every thing be measured against the Fa. Only then, with that, is it actually cultivation."

In Zhuan Falun Master talked about how a worker from a factory returned what he had taken from the factory, which made me think of one thing that I regret: I once had come across a wallet, which had over 50 yuan in it. Money was very important to me. Since my mother was not in good health, all our income was spent on her medical expenses. Therefore even when the owner was looking for it, I didn't give it back to him. This had become a problem in my heart. I wanted to pay him back and ask for his forgiveness, and I planned to give him 500 yuan as interest, as if he had saved that money in the bank. I searched for this person everywhere. I didn't know his name, and I only knew he was about 60 years old. Later I heard that he might have passed away. How could I pay this debt back? I thought about it, and donated that money to other practitioners to make more truth-clarifying materials to save more sentient beings. Another practitioner said, "Good. How could humans not make mistakes? You know that it was wrong, and then correct it."

Master said in "Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference",

"To those Dafa disciples who have just obtained the Fa, I say that you are so fortunate. Do you know what kind of group you have joined? These cultivators have made it to today after going through the harshest of tests. Of course, this persecution hasn't ended yet, but the evil is no longer so abundant or rampant, and the pressure is no longer so great. However, it won't be that just because you have entered [Dafa] only recently the standard of cultivation will be lowered for you. So in cultivation you must try hard to do the three things that Dafa disciples should do well, and at the same time save sentient beings and fulfill the roles that Dafa disciples should. In order to do these things well, you must study the Fa well. Make great efforts at studying the Fa, and you will be able to keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification, and you will in an impressive manner become a Dafa disciple who befits that name and is of the Fa-rectification period."June 27, 2008
