United Kingdom: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong and the Persecution During the Glasgow International Jazz Festival (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the occasion of the annual Glasgow International Jazz Festival, Falun Gong practitioners in Scotland held an activity to introduce Falun Gong and expose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong in China.

At the beginning of the festival there were many visitors. Practitioners played the beautiful music of "Pudu," which drew many people to their information booth. Many people accepted leaflets and many indicated their eagerness to learn the exercises and asked where they could find local exercise sites. Several tourists told a practitioner, "This is what I was looking for and now I have found it."

One practitioner walked through the noisy crowds, talking to people. Hearing about the CCP persecution of Falun Gong, some passersby hurried over to sign the petition supporting Falun Gong.

With the petition forms and leaflets, another practitioner went to all the other booths at the festival; nearly all of the booth owners signed the petition.

Local practitioners in Glasgow had previously talked to the festival organizing committee and everyone on the committee understands that Falun Gong is a good practice being brutally persecuted in China. Every year they invite practitioners to demonstrate the exercises on the festival stage. During this year's demonstration, a practitioner introduced the principles of Falun Gong and the exercises and then told how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong. The practitioner went on to tell about the CCP's forced labor camps, the crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, which has inspired 38 million people to withdraw from the CCP and/or its affiliated organizations.

Hundreds of onlookers took photos. After the exercise demonstration, a woman asked, "What is 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance?'" A practitioner explained it to her by citing a paragraph from Lunyu in the book, Zhuan Falun. When she heard it, she said, "That is very true. I must learn it."

During the festival, many Chinese people passed by the Falun Gong booth. In order to clarify the truth, a practitioner had made a sign reading, "We deeply regret the loss of life in the Sichuan earthquake, in which tens of thousands of fellow Chinese have met with misfortune. As a national crisis is imminent, why don't you--the CCP--stop the persecution of millions of innocent people?" Falun Gong practitioners hope that the Chinese people will gradually realize the true nature of the CCP, break away from it, and choose a bright future for themselves.
