Additional Information on the Arrests of Practitioners Meng Xianwu, Li Mingyan and Jiang Yuqing in Huludao City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of June 17, the deputy director of the West Street Police Station in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, brought a group of people and arrested physician Dr. Meng Xianwu while he was working at the Zinc Factory Hospital. The stated reason for his arrest was that someone reported him for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at the hospital. Because Meng Xianwu refused to disclose his home address, he was severely beaten by the police.

On the night of June 16, a plainclothed policeman from the West Street Police Station monitored Dr. Meng on a bicycle. There was also a police vehicle with the registration no. 02757 parked by the building where Meng Xianwu lives.

On June 17, at 11:45 a.m., Liu Xingcheng and several others from the Lianshan District State Security Team of Huludao City, and about twenty other people in four or five cars from the Longgang District West Street Police Station, went to Meng Xianwu's home at the Digong Residential Community, Lianshan District, Huludao City. They tried to force the door open but were not able to open it. The police then climbed up to the fifth floor window and entered Meng Xianwu's home, searched his home and forcibly arrested Ms. Jiang Yuqing, who was working at the home.

That same day at noon, three policemen went to Unit 402, Entrance 3, Building 6, Jinxiu Garden, Huludao City, knocking on the door of Ms. Li Mingyan's relative's home pretending to be collecting electricity fees. Li Mingyan didn't open the door. The police then threatened Ms. Li's relative, saying, "We will force our way in from the window if she doesn't open the door, and we will beat Li Mingyan to death!" Li Mingyan's relative came back home and tried to persuade Ms. Li to open the door. This went on until after 4:00 p.m.. Li Mingyan finally opened the door and told the crowd gathering around, "Remember, Falun Dafa is good. You will understand in the future."

Li Mingyan was arrested and detained at the Huludao Detention Center. Over the past nine years, Li Mingyan has been repeatedly arrested because of upholding her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. She was detained at the Huludao Detention Center in July 2000, and was detained again at the same place in May 2003. With righteous thoughts, she walked out of the detention center after more than 20 days. She was arrested again in April 2004, and was detained at the Masanja Labor Re-education Camp. Later she got out of the labor camp with righteous thoughts but was forced to live away from home in order to avoid being arrested again.

When Jiang Yuqing was arrested and sent to the West Street Police Station, the police stole from her 485 yuan in cash and belongings worth 900 yuan. The police tried to take a photo of her and force her to sign her name, but Ms. Jiang didn't cooperate and was beaten by four policemen. They grabbed her hair, slammed her against the wall, slapped her face, struck both sides of her chest, and kicked her thighs and lower legs. They also twisted her wrists and hands. The police tried to record the interrogation in writing, but because Ms. Jiang refused to speak, they fabricated four to five pages of false statements and handed them to a bureau director. After the bureau director read them, he said that it would do the job. Jiang Yuqing questioned them saying, "You persecute people who cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and you fabricate false materials. You are law enforcement officials, yet you are violating the law. You must release me immediately."

At around 6:30 in the evening, the police locked Jiang Yuqing and Meng Xianwu up in the Xingcheng Detention Center. There was an obvious injury on Meng Xianwu's face. On the way to the detention center, Meng Xianwu kept compassionately clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to the policeman who kept beating him, telling him that heaven is eliminating the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and urging him to quit the CCP . He also gave examples of good being rewarded with good and evil meeting with retribution. Finally, the policeman told him, "Don't say any more, if you continue, I might release you."

In the detention center, Meng Xianwu maintained righteous thoughts and righteous actions. He seized every opportunity to clarify the facts and persuade people to quit the CCP.

After Jiang Yuqing was beaten, the area around her heart was painful. She also found it difficult to eat, experiencing nausea and vomiting. She vomited blood twice. The deputy director of the detention center slapped her in the face and punched her. Jiang Yuqing cried out, "Falun Dafa is good! Police are persecuting good people!" Jiang Yuqing told the policeman at the West Street Police Station, "You persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, steal their property, and extort confessions by torture. Maybe you will know in the future what you have brought upon yourself and your family by doing these things. I don't want to see you have a bad future." The policeman said, "Who saw us taking your things? Who saw us beating you?" Jiang answered, "None of you dared to give me your names when you stole my things and beat me. But I can still recognise you." The policeman had nothing to say.

Meng Xianwu and Jiang Yuqing were each sentenced to one year of labor re-education. On July 1, at around 8:30, the police from the West Street Police Station locked Meng Xianwu up at the Huludao Labor Re-education Center, and Jiang Yuqing at the Masanja Labor Re-education Center in Shenyang Province. Jiang Yuqing was found by the Masanja Hospital to have a serious heart condition and the labor camp doctor advised against accepting her. The labor camp administration refused to take Ms. Jiang despite the arguments of the police, so the police had to release her the same night. However, they threatened her, saying that they would look for her again after several days.

We urge all Falun Dafa practitioners in China and abroad and all people of justice to pay attention to and help to end the persecution in China.
