Righteous Thoughts Led Me Out of the Detention Center

(Clearwisdom.net) One night in May 2003 I was caught by policemen and sent to the nearest detention center. They locked me up in a steel cage. At 10:10 pm, I felt that it was very quiet outside, so I started practicing the exercises and concluded with sending forth righteous thoughts. While sending forth righteous thoughts, I thought of eradicating all the demonic beings, demons, and dark minions, cleaning out the old forces' elements, and denying any pact with the old forces. At the same time, I called out to Master: "Your disciple is asking you, 'Help me out of here so I can fulfill the vows I have made in a prehistoric time and save sentient beings.'"

Around midnight I walked to the cage door and felt the handcuffs locking me in; the police couldn't find a lock so they used handcuffs to lock the door. I said to the handcuffs from my heart, "Handcuffs, you are used to lock up bad people, yet why do you lock up a good person? You are helping persecute Dafa practitioners. What will happen to the rest of your existence? Please open up, you will have a better future. Open." As I said this, I pulled on the handcuffs using both hands and with a "click," one of the handcuffs unlocked!

The sound frightened me so much that my whole head was sweating, I checked to make sure that it was still silent. All I heard was an indistinct snoring outside the door; I thought, "They were afraid of me escaping so they asked someone to watch the door." Then I thought, "It would be better if the person's snores were slightly louder." At this thought, indeed the person's snores increased in volume. Then I thought, "If there was a bit of wind, wouldn't that be great?" Indeed, a strong wind started blowing so hard that you could hear the sound of leaves rustling outside.

With the sound of the wind blowing, the leaves rustling, and the loud snores, I quickly said to the other handcuff, "You have seen it too, the other handcuff unlocked, why not open?" As I said this, I inserted my forefinger and thumb and pulled the handcuff. With a click, it opened.

I was so excited! With tears rolling out of my eyes, I wanted to kneel on the floor and say, "Master, your disciple thanks you."

I removed the handcuffs and got out of the cage. I turned around and locked the handcuffs onto the empty cage. When they found out, they thought that someone secretly released me and dismissed two policemen. After getting out of the cage, there was also the issue of a locked window, for I was afraid of waking up the sleeping watchman behind the door. I went up to the window and grabbed the steel bars, which were two finger lengths wide, and gently pulled. The steel bars soon bent.

That night, under Master's compassionate guidance, I successfully escaped from detention. This experience also revealed my sentimentality and attachment of fear. I wrote it down so I'll be able to eliminate them. This way, I'll be able to walk the path of rectifying the Fa and saving sentient beings steadily and well, with stronger righteous thoughts, without disappointing Master's benevolence and suffering, and be able to fulfill my vows from prehistoric times.
