Zhang Zongquan Persecuted and His Home Ransacked (Fengrun, Tangshan)

At 3:30 pm on July 10, 2008, Li Chunyuan from National Security Team and Fengrun Guard Office (former 610 Office) together with Wang Guofu, director of Chahe Town Police Station, and policeman Zhang Zhaodan, etc., broke into the home of Dafa disciple Zhang Zongyuan. Without showing any identification, they ransacked his home, confiscating a motorcycle and a VCD player. Zhang Zongquan is unable to return home, as further persecution would be the almost certain result.

Mr. Zhang Zongquan, 48 years old, lives in Wanggezhuang, Chahe Town, Fengrun, Tangshan City.

In 1993, Zhang Zengquan's mother suffered heart attacks, and it became more and more serious. In the following three years, Zhang Zongquan used all of his savings to cure his mother, but still she passed away.

After his mother died, Zhang Zengquan felt weak all over, and could not work. But he did not have any money to cure his diseases.

In the difficulty of poverty and sickness, his friends introduced him to Falun Gong. After reading Zhuan Falun for three days, his body became normal miraculously. When riding a bicycle, he felt like somebody was pushing him forward, and he never felt tired when working. He then stepped onto the path of cultivation. Falun Dafa gave him a brand new life.

In November 1999, Zhang Zongquan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, but was arrested. Police handcuffed his hands onto the edge of the bed, forced him to kneel down, and kicked him fiercely. In the 610 Office in Fengrun, policemen beat practitioners' legs with lengths of lumber, even attacking their faces. In the Fengrun Detention Center, at the order of director Yu Shuting, policemen tortured Dafa disciples with 'Deadly Strings.' 'Deadly Strings,' is to tie the hands behind the back, tie the whole body, and then hang it up. Generally, people become permanently handicapped within fifteen minutes from this torture. All kinds of extreme torture are employed. The political leader in Fengrun Detention Center Wang Jinxang said, 'When I was a soldier, I once harvested organs from executed criminals, since our leader needed a heart transplant.'

At the beginning of 2000, Zhang Zongquan and his wife were both sent to a forced labor camp for three years.

Zhang Zongquan's father is in his seventies, and is weak and always sick. He could not survive the heavy impact and passed away. Only a son about thirteen or fourteen years old was left. He had to live with his grandmother in Dangzhuang. His land had nobody to take care of it, and was rented to others.

Over seventy Falun Gong practitioners' homes have been ransacked since May 2008, in the run up to the Olympics. Even more were harassed and monitored.

On July 10th, in Fengrun, along with Zhang Zengquan's home, the homes of Zhao Guowu, Zhao Fengcun, Yang Guoguang, and others were also ransacked. Zhang Zengquan and Yang Guoguang escaped, but Zhao Guowu and Zhao Fengcun were detained. Li Chunyuan in Fengrun Guard Office (former 610 Office) seems to head up the persecution of Falun Gong locally.
