France: Falun Gong Highlighted at a Human Rights Forum in the City of Nancy (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Maitreya Human Rights Association in France invited the Falun Dafa Association to join its human rights forum that was held in Nancy on August 8, 2008. Representatives of the Falun Dafa Association told the participants how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intensifies its brutal persecution in the name of "safety for the Olympics."

As the Olympics started on August 8, voices of justice protesting the CCP's poor human rights record were heard around the world. The Maitreya Human Rights Association held a forum in front of the Nancy City Hall to expose how the CCP tramples on human rights and to call on the French government to protect the universal value of human rights and help stop the CCP from persecuting the Chinese people.

Mr. Berdaud, Deputy Mayor of Nancy, called upon the world to pay attention to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and Tibet. Berdaud said, "We thank the president of the Falun Dafa Association for standing up and exposing the CCP's brutality. We also admire the courage of the Falun Gong, which gives people hope. We can see that the CCP employs extensive political pressure out of fear. The fear might come from the CCP's losing its power to control people's ideology due to China's growing connection to the international community, or from the conflicts Beijing has with the international community due to different understandings of the Olympics."

"We would like to see China rise. We are not against 1/4 of the world population in China. However, the CCP suppresses minorities and deceives innocent civilians. The CCP suppresses Falun Gong, which represents a large part of China's population. Hence, what we boycott is the persecution ."

Mark, a representative from the Maitreya Human Rights Association, said, "Most Chinese people are proud of being able to host the Olympics. The problem is these Games didn't bring the values and spirit of the Olympics, but profits a few bureaucrats and promotes shady deals between governments. We are against how the Chinese Communist regime turns the Olympics into a political tool and the world's people are deprived of an opportunity to recover universal values of humanity."

"Falun Gong has become the target of the CCP's attack in the past several years. Today, we see that many people have maintained their belief in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. I believe soon China will have human rights and freedom."

The Blue TV station interviews the president of the Falun Dafa Association in France

A reporter from the Blue TV Station in France heard about how satellite provider Eutelsat cut off the signals of NTDTV and Sound of Hope Radio Network from the W5 satellite that broadcast to China. The reporter said it was very unfortunate, "This incident shows that the CCP has not improved its freedom of speech and human rights. It further tells the world that the CCP didn't keep its promise to improve its human rights."

The participants of this human rights forum were appalled when they learned about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. People care about the Olympics, but they care more about the human rights situation in China.
