Firmly Following Teacher and Cultivating

(Clearwisdom.net) I used to suffer from several different illnesses, but I had no money for medical treatment. A relative of mine who is a Dafa practitioner suggested I try Falun Gong. I then began my cultivation.

I had never attended school and I only recognized two words. Therefore I could only listen to fellow practitioners read Zhuan Falun. As I listened, Teacher's compassion and the profoundness of the Fa moved me to tears. I made up my mind to firmly cultivate Dafa.

Soon I obtained a copy of Zhuan Falun. I wanted to ask others to teach me to read. When my daughter saw the thick book, she said I wouldn't be able to finish reading it after ten years. I told her that, no matter how long it took, I was determined to learn to read Zhuan Falun all by myself.

In the seven years that followed, I always had the book with me. Whenever I had a break from selling vegetables, I would ask others to teach me to read Zhuan Falun. Eventually I was able to read it by myself. Gradually, some of my family members also began to cultivate.

After the persecution began, I went around to distribute truth clarification materials and tell people that Falun Dafa is good. Once I was arrested as I was distributing informational materials. When I was detained, I did not fight back when I was beaten and cursed at. I just sat in meditation and sent forth righteous thoughts. Later the police released me.
