Additional Persecution News from China - August 19, 2008 (27 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in
19 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 11 practitioners were
subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30
practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Yutang and His Wife, Mr.
Dai Jun, and Ms. Chen Min Arrested At 8 p.m. on August 16, 2008, officers from the Shengrong Police Station in
Mishan City broke into the home of Mr. Zhang Yutang and arrested him and his
wife as well as Mr. Zhang's nephew, Mr. Dai Jun, and Ms. Chen Min. They are
being detained in the Mishan City Detention Center. 2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xie Yujie and Ms. Zhao Xiuzhen Arrested At 6 p.m. on August 4, 2008, four or five police officers from the Xinjiuzhan
Police Station in Jilin Economic Developing District arrested Mr. Xie Yujie and
Ms. Zhao Xiuzhen and took them from their home. It is said that they are being
detained in the Baishan Detention Center. 3. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] On August 18, 2008, Mr. Chen Ge of the
Zhuozhou City Geological Bureau Was Arrested by the Zhuozhou National Security
Team, His Whereabouts Unknown 4. [Miyi County Sichuan Province] Mr. Que Qingbo Arrested. On August 15, 2008, Mr. Que Qingbo went to a police station to report a loss
because someone had stolen cash from him in the amount of 2000 yuan,
as well as his motorcycle driving license and other property. However, he was
arrested at the police station. Now he is being detained in the Wanyaoshu
Detention Center in Panzhihua City. 5. [Beijing City] More Than 60 Practitioners Transferred to Xindian Women's
Forced Labor Camp in Shanxi Province 6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Jingqiu Monitored Ms. Yan Jingqiu was just released after being detained in a forced labor camp
for two and a half years. Recently, the local police placed her under
residential surveillance to "protect the Olympic Games." 7. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] English Teacher Ms. He Ping Arrested At 10 a.m. on July 23, 2008, Ms. He Ping, an English teacher at the Chengbei
High School, was arrested and taken to the Yuyue Police Station. On that
afternoon, the police confiscated Dafa books, truth-clarifying
materials, and a computer from her home. She is being detained in the Jiayu
First Detention Center. 8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] On the Afternoon of August 18, 2008, Mr.
Lu Jianguo, in His 50s, Arrested 9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Zongqun Persecuted. Mr. Xu Zongqun is an employee of the Nanjiao Heating and Power Factory in
Jinan City. In 1999, he was arrested and then placed under residential
surveillance because he went to Beijing to validate the Fa. On August 1, 2008,
he was arrested again because he was reported by his colleague. Now he has been
sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor. He is being detained in
Jiangshuiquan Forced Labor Camp. 10. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Xiaolan Becomes Homeless
as a Result of Persecution At 8 pm on August 3, 2008, Ms. Fu Xiaolan's home was searched. Dafa books
were confiscated. Ms. Fu was forced to become homeless. 11. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Xiaozhen and Other
Practitioners Persecuted On July 9, 2008, the Changle County 610 Office and National
Security Team arrested more than ten practitioners, claiming it was necessary to
maintain the "safety of the Olympic Games." All of them were held in
the county detention center. On August 12, Ms. Guo Xiaozhen was sent to Wangcun
Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term, and Ms. Liu Lili was sent to the
Weifang Brainwashing Center. Others were released on bail after having 5,000 to
10,000 yuan extorted from them. 12. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shumei and Other
Practitioners Persecuted On the afternoon of August 12, 2008, Ms. Li Shumei from Fulaerji District was
arrested by three officers from the Yanjiang Police Station. In the middle of the night on August 13, Ms. Lu Shibo was arrested. She is
being held in the Fulaerji District Detention Center. On the same day, Ms. Gao
Yongzhi was also arrested. At 1 p.m. on August 17, 2008, Ms. Xin Yanhua and Ms.
Zhou Guoping were arrested at their homes. Their computers and printers were
also confiscated. 13. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhao Yuqin Now in the Lumu Detention
Center in Suzhou City On the morning of August 9, 2008, Ms. Zhao Yuqin, 65 years old, was reported
while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in Suzhou City. She was
arrested by the Xihu Police Station in Suzhou Industrial Park. Now she is being
detained in the Lumu Detention Center. 14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Arrested. At 10 pm on August 12, 2008, Ms. Lin Ping, Ms. Wang Yingge, Ms. Zhang Guifeng
and Ms. Sun Yuxia from Zhuanghe City, were arrested at Heigao by the local
police station. On the afternoon of August 13, the four practitioners were sent
to the Zhuanghe Detention Center. 15. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] On July 2, 2008, Mr. Li Yongsheng, 38
Years Old, from Dongtai Village, Hongxing Township, Jiguan District Was
Arrested, He Became Mentally Unstable as a Result of Persecution 16. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Yufeng and Mr. Jiang Zhongxun
Sent to Labor Camps Ms. Lu Yufeng and Mr. Jiang Zhongxun from Longgang District were sent to
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and Huludao Forced Labor Camp, respectively. 17. [Tianjin City] Mr. Wang Qingsen, Mr. Wang Qingheng, Mr. Ma Guiquan, and
Ms. Liang Deju Harassed Around July 20, 2008, police broke into the homes of Mr. Wang Qingsen, Mr.
Wang Qingheng, Mr. Ma Guiquan, and Ms. Liang Deju and searched them without
warrents. In Mr. Ma Guiquan's home, the police took away Dafa books, audio tapes
of Teacher's lectures, Teacher's pictures, etc. Mr. Ma was taken to the Hetou
Police Station inx fhs Tanggu District. 18. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qiu Baohe and His Wife Persecuted Mr. Qiu Baohe was an employee of the Forestry Check-up Station of the Jiaohe
City Forestry Bureau. On March 27, 2008, his employer stopped his wages after he
was arrested and persecuted because he tried to rescue fellow practitioners. Now
he has been sentenced to five years' imprisonment by the Jiaohe Court. 19. [Shijiazhuang City, Hubei Province] Additional Information about the
Arrest of Ms. Liu Yanhong On August 16, 2008, Ms. Liu Yanhong was arrested again by the Changfeng
Police Station. She has been taken to the Shijiazhuang Brainwashing Center. On July 4, 2008, Ms. Liu and her husband, Mr. Shen Manliang, were arrested
together. Later, she managed to walk out of the detention center with righteous
thoughts. 20. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Gaohua Arrested Ms. Peng Gaohua is a retired employee in Zaoziping, Panzhihua City. On August
16, 2008, she was followed by students when she was explaining the truth about
Falun Gong to high school students. Afterwards, she was arrested by local police
and her home was also searched. 21. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Feng Liping's Forced Labor Term
Extended Mr. Feng Liping is a former journalist. He was arrested by national security
police and his arms were broken. He was sent to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp.
On August 7, 2008, his term was supposed to end, but it was extended to August
24. 22. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information about the Arrest
of Ms. Li Jihui On June 4, police from the Guankou Police Station, the Longfeng Town 610
Office, and the Pengzhou National Security Team arrested Ms. Li Jihui and took
2,800 yuan from her. Now she is being detained in the Pengzhou City Brainwashing

clarifying the truth. Now she is being held in the Paixiang County Detention
Center. 24. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhu Xiaoguang Sent to a Brainwashing
Center In Fenjin Forced Labor Camp, Mr. Zhu Xiaoguang's term was extended for 25
days. On August 17, 2008, he was transferred to the Changchun City Brainwashing
Center. 25. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] In the Middle of August 2008, Ms.
Zhong Yifang, a Women in her 50s, Was Arrested 26. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Many Practitioners Arrested and
Persecuted On July 30, 3008, CCP officials in Miyi County arrested many practitioners in
Miyi County in order to "protect the Olympic Games." The following
practitioners are being held in the Miyi Detention Center: Ms. Zhang Kaiqiong,
Ms. Zhou Ying, Ms. Xian Chaozhen, Ms. Liao Deying, Mr. Zhang Zhenghuan, Ms. Yang
Xingxiu, Ms. Bai Chaoxia, Ms. Yao Yuanfang, Ms. Yu Lan, Mr. Yang Fuzhong, Ms.
Cai Huilian, Mr. Gu Xingfeng, Mr. Mao Jianping, and Mr. Tang Xingrong. Li Huabo and other detention center guards have beaten the practitioners with
sticks. 27. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Sent to Labor Camps Since July 2008, many practitioners have been arrested. Among of them, six
were sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp at the end of July. They are: Mr. Jing
Zhaowei, Ms. Cui Qiaolan, Ms. Li Xiuying, Ms. Yang Xiumei's husband, Ms. Liang
Shuju, and Ms. Lu Qinglan. Now Ms. Cui Qiaolan and Ms. Li Xiuying are being
detained in the Guan County Brainwashing Center because of their poor physical
condition.
