(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities and counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 39 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 36 practitioners were illegally arrested.

On the morning of August 3, police followed Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Shi from Chenzhou City to her home when she was clarifying the truth to people on the street. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. Her employer was also interrogated by the police all night.

Officers from the police station in Hanzhuang Township arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dong Hongmei from Renzhuang Village, Hanzhuang Township, Baoding City. They sent her to the Daoding Detention Center. She was due to be released on August 4, but the police did not let her go.

In early July, police from the Yingcheng Police Station in Jiutai, Changchun City, arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Lu Yamin, Ms. Wang Pengying and Ms. Jiang Jie from Yingcheng Coal Mine. They have been illegally sentenced. Their whereabouts is currently unknown.

On the morning of July 30, 2008, more than ten policemen from the police station in Baichihe Town, Zhucheng City, illegally broke into the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ge Shuoyun in Yuegou Village, Baichihe Town, and arrested her. They also searched the house and confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Ge is currently detained at the Zhucheng City Detention Center.

At 6:00 a.m. on July 10, police from the Pinggu Domestic Security Division broke into the home of fifty-six-year-old Ms. Zhao Caiyun from Dongtumen Village. They illegally searched the house and tried to arrest her, but they were not successful and left in a hurry.

On the morning of July 27, 2008, police from the Dadong District Police Station arrested Ms. Yao Shuxia, who lives at the Fengfang Residential Compound, and Ms. Suo Fengyun, who lives at the Shuanglu Residential Compound, when they were clarifying the truth to people. They were sent to the Shenyang First Detention Center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Yongjian from Dagang, Tianjing, accompanied his wife Ms. Wang Lirong to visit relatives in her hometown in Shandong Province. They were reported to the police and arrested. Wang Lirong was detained at the Jinan Brainwashing Center, and Yang Yongjian at the Dagang Detention Center in Tianjin. There was nobody to look after their elderly parents and two children. The police also threatened their landlords and ordered them not to lease the apartment to them.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Jin from Dagang, Tianjing was arrested in May when she was visiting relatives at Wuqing County. She is currently detained at the First Brigade of Banqiao Female Forced Labor Camp in Tianjin. She was so weak from severe persecution that the labor camp was not willing to hold her any more, but the 610 Office didn't allow them to release her, using the Olympics as a reason.

Hubei Female Forced Labor Camp recently detained fifty Falun Dafa practitioners from Beijing. Among them was white-haired, fifty-nine-year-old Ms. Zhang Jie, who was severely persecuted.

On the afternoon of July 29, Liu Jinying, leader of the Qianxi Domestic Security Division in Tangshan City, led six or seven policemen to Ms. Wang Xiuhua's home and arrested her for being a "threat" to Olympic security.

Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Tian Baoli and Ms. Fan Baorong were arrested on July 20, 2008 and then sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City on July 27.

Perpetrators from the Cuiping District Police Station in Yibin City, the Cuiping District Education Bureau and Changjia Road Primary School broke into the houses of Mr. Liu Zhiqiong, who lives on Tianbei Street, and Mr. Fan Jiayi, a retired teacher from Changjia Road Primary School, and ordered them to go to the brainwashing center. They refused to do so, so the school sent teachers to knock on their doors and the police broke into their homes attempting to arrest them. They refused the police, so the perpetrators then ordered the school to station people at the gate of their residential compound to monitor them from 7:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m.

At about 3:00 p.m. on July 21, seven or eight policemen from Chengjiao Police Station in Mianyang City illegally broke into a practitioner's house at Pingzheng Village. Five practitioners were there studying the Fa at the time. Seven practitioners, Ms. Yang Suyun, Ms. Liang Yuzhi, Ms. Hu Kezhen, Ms. Chen Xiuying, Ms. Chen Jiali, Ms. Li Xiuhua and Ms. Song Jiayu, were arrested. The police searched the houses of Yang Suyun and several other practitioners. Eighty-plus-year-old Song Jiayu and Chen Jiali were released but the whereabouts of the other five practitioners are unknown.

Police from the Jianbei Police Station in Qiaodong District, Shijiazhuang City, forcibly searched the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Chaoying and arrested her. She was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp and is currently detained at the forced labor camp located behind the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. Her family members were not allowed to see her.

On July 31, 2008, Liu Yougui from the Domestic Security Division of the Police Department in Linqing City led police from the Qingnian Police Station and from the 610 Office to break into the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Han Zhenglin at Dongjiu County, Linqing City. They confiscated Falun Dafa books. Han Zhenglin managed to escape, but he is now homeless.

On July 29, 2008, police from the Police Department in Liushuquan County Fengnan District, Tangshan City, went to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Suqin's home and demanded to see her ID document. Ms. Huang refused them. On the evening of July 30, police arrested Ms. Huang at her home and sent her to the Fengnan District Detention Center. Sources said that two other female Falun Gong practitioners were also detained there. One of them was from Huangge Village, Fengnan District, Tangshan City.

Police from the 610 Office in Zhaoyuan City and from the Qishan Town Police Station arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Wu Xinfang and Ms. Sun Junhong from Dapo Village, Qishan Town, Zhaoyuan City and sent them to the Gold Mine Brainwashing Center in Lingnan, Zhaoyuan City.

On the evening of July 13, several Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested in Shuangqiao District and Shuangluan District in Chengde City. Several truth-clarification materials production centers were ransacked. A high-speed printer, a large book-making machine, printers and computers, nearly 100 copies of Zhuan Falun and other materials were confiscated.

At about 10:00 a.m. on July 27, twenty-six-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Jianying from Chengde City and fifty-plus-year-old practitioner Ms. Bai from Shuangtashan were arrested when they were clarifying the truth at the Chengde Summer Resort. They are currently detained at the Laoxiying Detention Center in Shuangtashi. Their homes were ransacked. Two printers for business use, one computer, and mobile phones were confiscated.

On the afternoon of July 22, 2008, police from the Baochi New District broke into a Dafa materials productions center and arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xing. They confiscated a computer, a laser printer, 1,500 yuan and some Falun Dafa books. Li Xing is currently detained at the detention center in Baochi New District.

At 8:00 a.m. on August 1, more than 20 policemen from the Pulandian Municipal Government, Shuangta Police Station, the Shuangta Town Government and Dengdian Village, arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ge Shuhua at her home in Taotun, Dengdian Village, Shuangta Town, Pulandian, Dalian. She was sent to Fushun.

On July 8, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Cui Xiuju and Ms. Wu Shuming from Xiaoling Town, Acheng District, Harbin City, were reported to the police when they were distributing truth-clarifying materials. They were arrested and their homes were ransacked.

In 2000 Cui Xiuju and Tang Shuying went to Beijing to validate the Fa and they were arrested. They were sent to their hometowns and were detained for fifteen days. They were forced to give 10,000 yuan as bail, of which 7,000 yuan was returned in 2006. The balance was held by Police officer Teng Wei.

Towards the end of 2001, Cui Xiuju and Wu Shuming were arrested again. Practitioners who were persecuted at the same time included Ms. Tang Shuying, Ms. Cui Xiuqing, Ms. Wei Baojun, Ms. Mo Shuqin, Ms. Gao Shuxia, Auntie Ren, Mr. Fan Youwu, and his wife Wang Bo. Wu Shuming suffered from hysteromyoma and was sent to the hospital. She was forced to write a Guarantee Statement to give up Falun Gong. Gao Shuxia was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Cui Xiuju, Tang Shuying, Mo Shuqin and Fan Youwu were sentenced to three years in forced labor camps. They were beaten, shocked with electric batons, hung up, doused with cold water, forced to squat and stand for a long time and forced to do slave labor.

At 9:30 a.m. on July 23, 2008, the Longfeng District Court opened a session to illegally put Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Gao Yanxia, Ms. Yuan Qing, Ms. Gao Fengling and Ms. Du Deping on trial. The session lasted over two hours. Gao Yanxia was sentenced to five years in prison, Yuan Qing to three and a half years, Gao Fengling to three yeas and Du Deping to two years. The presiding judge was Wang Guojun.

On the morning of July 7, 2008, Song Dengfeng, Director of the police station in Baitan Township, led police to illegally search the house of sixty-plus-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xue from Mogang Village without providing any legal documents. They found truth-clarifying CDs of the "Minghui Weekly", other truth-clarification materials and Falun Dafa books. Several policemen dragged Wang Xue through muddy water and pushed her into a police car with mud all over her body and one shoe missing. She is currently detained at the Beiguan Prison in Fugou County. Her husband went to visit her twice but the police didn't let him see her.

Since July 20, 1999, Wang Xue has been persecuted many times. In July last year Song Dengfeng led police from the Township Police Station to arrest Wang Xue. She was not released until they extorted several thousand yuan from her.

Officers from the Police Department in Fushun City arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Chen Jiuwena and Mr. Sheng Baoren from Xinbing County, Fushun City. They are currently detained at the Fushun City Detention Center. Mr. Zhao Liankai from Qingyuan is also detained there.

On August 1, 2008, police from the 610 Office in Yingcheng City, the Domestic Security Division, the Police Department, the local police station and officials from the Hubei Shuanghuan Chemical Corporation, joined forces to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Yan Sanming, Mr. Xiang Hongxing and Mr. Chu Sichun. Xiang Hongxing was forcibly arrested while he was at work at the Shuanghuai Chemical Corporation.

The whereabouts of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xiong Jiwei from the Shuanghai Chemical Corporation is unknown.
