Falun Gong Practitioner Xu Peng from Songyuan City Subjected To Torture, Secret Trial

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Peng from Songyuan City, Jilin Province was arrested on April 22, 2008. He is being held at the Shanyou Detention Center. Guard Ma Hongzhe tortured him using a procedure called the "Big Hang-up," which rendered him unable to walk. Mr. Xu has been arrested three times. The CCP personnel extorted a confession from him and framed him for committing a crime, labeling him as an "anti-CCP ringleader." Now they intend to hold a secret trial to sentence him.

Mr. Xu Peng, age 40, was the Deputy Director of the Songyuan City Planning Department. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and as a result was detained and sentenced to forced labor. He lost his job and his family. He was detained at the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province from 2001 to 2003. While he was held at the forced labor camp, he was tortured by being shocked with electric batons. His eardrum was punctured, resulting in a loss of hearing, and he became lame in his legs and unable to walk. His weight dropped down from 90 to 50 kilograms. Six months after he was released, he regained his hearing and could once again walk normally.

Policemen from the Songyuan City Domestic Security Division broke into Xu Peng's home on October 15, 2007 and stole all of his belongings. They did this when Xu Peng and his family members were not at home. In the middle of November, personnel from the Songyuan City National Security Team secretly changed the locks on Xu Peng's parents' home. Later they ransacked his parents' home and robbed them of all of their belongings: furniture, quilts, clothing, refrigerator, washing machine, TV, TV cabinet, clothes rack, shoe rack, bed, shoes, slippers, electric cooker, induction cooker, bowls, rice, oil and salt, etc. Because Gao Shuai, Li Jun and Ma Hongzhe, who are all personnel from the National Security Team, locked Mr. Xu's 70-year-old parents out of their own home and took all of their belongings, his parents no longer have a place to live.

During the past few months and during the period that the Olympic Games took place, many Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. Dozens of practitioners are held in a room that is no more than twenty meters square at the Songyuan Detention Center. The room is very hot and the detainees can barely breathe.
