Ma Lingjun Secretly Sentenced to Four Years after Divine Performing Arts Flyers Found in Her Possession

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ma Lingjun of Shihe District, Xinyang City, Henan Province is 60 years old. After being illegally detained by the authorities for eight months, she was transferred to Henan Province Xingxiang Women's Prison for further detention on December 1, 2008.

Five months after Ms. Ma's arrest, she was secretly convicted without her family's knowledge, and was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. The court's explanation for her conviction was that several flyers for the 2008 Divine Performing Arts production were found in her bicycle basket. It is clear that the court decision followed instructions from the local 610 Office.

Ma Lingjun is nearly 60 years old and her physical condition is not good. Her family strongly requested she be released for medical treatment, but were informed that Ms. Ma's status was under the jurisdiction of a higher authority, which does not permit Falun Dafa practitioners to be excused from serving their sentences.

Divine Performing Arts, devoted to restoring China's 5,000-year-old authentic traditional culture, has toured around the globe and has received high praise worldwide. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is intent on destroying Chinese tradition, and therefore greatly fears Divine Performing Arts.
