Practitioners in Taipei gathered in Xinyi Square in front of the 101 Building to wish Revered Master a Happy Chinese New Year on January 18, 2009.

Respectfully Wishing Revered Master a Happy Chinese New Year

The NTDTV's Flag and Drum Team started the ceremony. Following the Flag and Drum Team was the Divine Land Marching Band. The band in Taiwan is currently the largest marching band in the world. It made up of practitioners of all ages.

Young practitioners from the Minghui School performed at the celebration

When the young practitioners got on the stage, the crowd cheered warmly. The youngest of them was two and a half . They danced and sang traditional tunes.

There was a Waist Drum Team made up of young practitioners that performed the finale. After four hours of waiting, they were still energetic.

Elderly practitioners also demonstrated their liveliness. No matter what kind of formation or song, a 73-year-old practitioner performed with precision. The practitioner told everyone with a microphone, "I have practiced Falun Gong for 12 years. The practice and being in the Waist Drum Team make me younger by the day."

Showing Gratitude to Master's Grace by Striving Forward More Diligently

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, every practitioner has tried to tell people the facts about the persecution and the beauty of Falun Dafa with their limited income and time.

Du Fuying is from China. She married a Taiwanese man 12 years ago. She learned the practice in January 1994. Before she started the practice, her legs were often too swollen to walk. The doctors couldn't figure out why. She dragged her heavy body everyday, thinking that she would not live long. After she learned the practice, her health improved by the day. Her skin turned rosy and she walked with ease.

She remembered when the persecution started not long after she got to Taiwan. Even in Taiwan, some local residents were misled by the CCP's lies and disliked Falun Gong. They often verbally abused practitioners and drove them away. The practitioners faced these tests with compassion. Later, several local residents stood up for the practitioners and changed people's negative opinion about Falun Gong. From then on the practitioners were able to hang their banners saying "Falun Dafa Is Good" and distribute materials that clarified the facts about the persecution.

Ms. Du's son and daughter-in-law were also practitioners. She has a three-year-old grandson who often reminds her to send righteous thoughts. With the support of her family, Ms. Du has been to many truth clarification events in many places such as Hong Kong, Japan, the United States, Europe, and Australia to spread the beauty of Dafa and let more people know the facts.

Ms. Du said that she had made mistakes but she would do her best to do what a good practitioner should do and walk her path well. She would be more diligent and follow Master's footsteps in the practice all the way until the end.

Improvement in Character Turns Family Members into Practitioners

When Shao Lizhu was younger, she was more rebellious and was a disappointment to her family. As she began to practice, her temper and character improved greatly. She got along better with others and could stand in others' shoes to be considerate of them. Her older brother, sister-in-law, sisters, and brother-in-law became practitioners because of her.

In the end, everyone gathered in the center of the square and shouted in unison, "We respectfully wish Revered Master a Happy Chinese New Year" three times.
