(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yue Shuju lives in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1997 and all her illnesses disappeared. Her husband also got rid of many bad habits after practicing Falun Gong and they had a happy life.

Below is the persecution Ms. Yue Shuju endured during the past nine years.

1. Harassment by the police
On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong and practitioners. One day in July 1999 after 4 a.m., we were doing our morning exercises outdoors. Several policemen from Xincheng Police Station came, including Wang Fan, a policeman surnamed Xue and others. They took another practitioner and me to the police station and did not allow us to go home. We were not released until that afternoon.

2. Police came to arrest us when we went to appeal
On July 20, 1999, several of us went to the provincial capital to appeal. There were many policemen there. They arrested anyone who went to appeal and transferred some of them to an empty stadium. Several of us were transferred to a big hall, where many practitioners were already detained. Soon afterwards, the speakers broadcast propaganda that defamed Falun Gong and Master. Later we learned that the police had received instructions to broadcast slanderous programs. Later, we were transferred to a school and they continued to broadcast the propaganda through the speakers to defame Master and Falun Gong.

After I returned home, the police often came to harass us and it disturbed our regular life. The police also threatened us not to go to Beijing; otherwise, we would be arrested again.

3. Illegal labor camp detention because of telling facts to government officials
In October 1999, I went to the Beijing Appeals Office. As soon as I arrived there, I was surrounded by police and government officials from different places. I was arrested by police from the Qitaihe City Liaison Office in Beijing and detained in a basement. More than 20 practitioners were already there. As soon as we arrived, we were searched by the police and all of our money and valuables were confiscated. We were handcuffed together two by two, and the police even used rope to tie up some practitioners' hands behind their backs. Police also beat us and detained us for one day and one night.

More than 20 of us--each group of two was handcuffed together--were sent back to Qitaihe City. Police detained us at the detention center in the name of "disturbing social order". We were given steamed corn bread that was difficult to eat and vegetable soup with hardly any oil or vegetables. There was even mud or sand in the soup. Even for this food, the police charged us 17 yuan per day. In the evening, a guard named Kou Yinglong read newspapers to us that defamed Master and Falun Gong.

The detention center was newly built and it was damp inside. Water seeped in along the walls and the blankets were wet. One day after 7 p.m. when we were sitting there, several guards came into the room to beat us, saying that we were doing the exercises. They also forced us to recite the detention center rules. A guard surnamed Wang punched and kicked me. I could barely stand, and my chest and back hurt. In order to stop the beating, practitioners recited Lunyu together. Practitioners in other rooms also recited Lunyu with us and it was very loud. The guards were afraid and left.

After being detained for 15 days, I was transferred to the police station and asked to give up practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, otherwise I would not be allowed to return home. In the evening, my family went to the police station and my children cried. But how could I act against my conscience to slander Teacher who gave me everything? In this way, once again police sent me to the detention center in the name of "disturbing social order". On January 19, I was illegally detained for three years and sent to the Xigemu Labor Camp at Jiamusi City for further persecution.

4. Brutal persecution at the labor camp
In the labor camp, what we ate was moldy steamed bread that made one's throat sore after eating it. Other food included steamed bread made from chicken feed. The vegetable soup did not have meat or oil; it only had several pieces of frozen radishes cooked in the water left over from making steamed bread. After eating such food, one's body would get bloated and it was hard to defecate. The health conditions were poor and we could only take a shower once every few months. Every day we were forced to work for more than 12 hours. Sometimes when we were unable to finish the assignment, we had to continue working after 10:00 p.m. with guards scolding us at our side. When picking the small beans for a long time, my fingers were worn out and started to bleed. In addition, we had to carry the large bags of beans--more than 100 jin (or 50 kilograms) per bag--onto the truck.

When going to eat after we finished the assignment, there was no water to clean our hands. Also, there was no water to wash our hands after using the restroom. Plus, the time allowed for restroom breaks was only several minutes. Because of eating steamed corn bread and there was no oil in the food, many people had constipation. However, the police started to yell out very dirty words if one stayed in the restroom too long. Sometimes, one was physically abused because of this.

One morning after getting up, we all started to do the exercises. A group of male guards came in to beat and kick us. One practitioner almost died because guards kicked him so hard. We were then forced to sit on the concrete floor for several hours.

In the labor camp, we were often forced to sit still on small stools. In addition, we were often forced to walk for a long time.

In August 2000, guards kept me in an intensified cell. I was not allowed to leave the cell, and I had to eat and defecate inside the cell. Every day, there was brainwashing and lies. In order to "transform" me, a guard surnamed Li pinched my neck. In this way, I was brainwashed under high pressure. I really regretted that and felt great remorse.

5. Other types of persecution including harassing, monitoring, and financial pressure
After returning home, the residential committee official often came to harass me and closely monitor me. In August 2001, several police from Xincheng Police Station came to my home, including a policeman surnamed Sun and a policeman surnamed Xue. They forcibly dragged me into the police van and took me to the police station. When my two children came home from school for lunch, they had nothing to eat. I was not released until evening.

My husband was also sent to a forced labor camp twice. I had no job, and the entire family barely had any income. Two practitioners from another city came to visit me and wanted to help. Within 5 minutes of their arrival, several policemen from the police station came, including a policeman surnamed Sun, a policeman surnamed Xue and policeman Wang Fan. They took me and those practitioners to the police station. The police separated us in the police station, and did not release me until evening. Policeman Wang Fan even threatened not to notify the other two practitioners' families. Later, I heard they were detained at the detention center. In this way, other people who wanted to help us dared not visit, and we had a difficult life for a long time.

6. Being harassed once again
At about 9:00 p.m. on May 9, 2002, several policemen, including Pang Yigui, Kou Yinglong and Li Hong, came to arrest my husband. They searched the entire the house and I was able to escape. After one hour, policemen Kou Yinglong and Li Hong came to confiscate our property in the absence of any adult family members. Several days later, in order to fill the quota assigned for labor camps by higher officials, the Qitaihe Police Department once again sentenced my husband to three years in a labor camp. Once again, my family had a difficult time.

In 2002, policeman Pang Yinggui and a driver forced me to press my fingerprint and sign my name on a document, but I refused. The driver furiously said, "If you refuse, I will come in the evening to arrest you."

At about 8:00 p.m. on March 13, 2008, several policemen who claimed to be from the City Police Department came and arrested my husband. Within 20 minutes, more than 10 policemen, including Bi Shuqing and Chen Ju, came to confiscate our property. They took a cell phone, an electronic book, a radio and more than 40 yuan in cash. My husband was detained at the detention center for 54 days.

7. Calling for Justice
My entire family has benefited tremendously from practicing Falun Gong, including having a harmonious life and improved physical health. Falun Dafa is good. Please act from your conscience and help stop this inhuman persecution.
