On the morning of June 26, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners held banners opposite the President's Office, protesting the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Many practitioners participating the event had suffered the persecution when they were in China, some were personally detained, some practitioners' relatives died as a result of the persecution. Some practitioners had their families torn apart as a result of the persecution.

Practitioner Liu Yumei who recently came to Finland from Liaoning Province, China, said, "A practitioner in my hometown was arrested by the CCP nine times, and his home was ransacked six times. He was tortured to be on the verge of death four times. I'm disabled due to the torture I had been imposed upon. My younger sister was killed in the persecution. I come here to want to tell the CCP officials, to stop the persecution!"

Many passersby and tourists were drawn to the event, they inquired about what had happened, how to help Falun Gong and other questions.

A young couple looked at the banners, and immediately walked up to a practitioner and asked, "What event are you holding today? What is Falun Gong?" The practitioner told them the persecution taking place in China, and that the CCP has gone so far as harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioner also told them that many practitioner participants of the event had personally experienced the persecution and had to leave China. The young couple felt it unbelievable. They took some material to learn more.
