We welcomed and celebrated Falun Dafa week from November 26 to December 3, 2000 in the City of Hollywood, Florida. On December 2 and 3, Falun Dafa practitioners from surrounding cities gathered at Hollywood beach and celebrated this memorable event. As Falun Dafa practitioners, our greatest wishes are nothing but letting more people know about and to benefit from Dafa (the Great Law). As usual, practitioners practiced on the beach and repeatedly demonstrated the five sets of movements. We also prepared a lot of flyers to distribute to tourists. The following were some occurrences at this event.

One practitioner went to City Hall to apply for approval of this activity. While he was on the way, he realized that he forgot to bring the City Hall address and he had to try to find the place from memory. During the search, he got help from several warmhearted people including a legal secretary, a health food store owner and his wife, an entertainment center owner, etc. The practitioner introduced Dafa to these people. They felt very excited and genuinely thanked the practitioner. When the practitioner finally found City Hall, which was straight ahead of the parking lot, he suddenly realized that our Teacher had arranged this opportunity for him to spread Dafa.
Florida's winter is warm and comfortable, which draws the visit of many U.S. and foreign tourists. Many tourists stopped and watched our exercises, and were moved by this scene of peace and serenity. Many of them asked for Dafa flyers and some tourists simply joined in doing the exercises. One practitioner from South America happened to be there and joined in the Dafa-spreading activities. He introduced Dafa to the tourists in several languages including English, French, and German. One Western practitioner busied himself with distributing flyers at the roadside under the scorching sun, and he could not even spare some time to drink water. During the break, he ran up to another practitioner and enthusiastically started to recite in English the poem of "Zhu Fa" (Assistance in Spreading Dafa) in Master Li's poem book Hong Yin: "Having made a vow to save all sentient beings, and assist Teacher to achieve this goal in the human world. Helping me revolve the Falun, and traversing the heavens and earth freely after Fa-rectification concludes." (Translators note: a general meaning of the poem). At that moment, he must have had a deeper understanding of the poem.
Two boys lived by the sea; one was a 7-8 year old and the other 5-6 years of age. They played and rode bicycles on the side of the road. When they passed our demonstration site, they stopped and watched the exercises. After a while, they put aside their bicycles and joined us in doing the exercises. After finishing the five sets of exercises, they went to replace the practitioners who were distributing the flyers. While the two brothers politely gave out flyers to the passers-by, they continuously asked questions about the Dafa-promotion photos and pictures. After they read several pages of the English version of Zhuan Falun together with one practitioner, they expressed that they wanted to learn Chinese in the future. They had got to know Falun Dafa during their contact of several hours with the practitioners. Before leaving, each of them took one China Falun Gong and one exercise music tape and gently asked the practitioners if they could have these materials. The practitioners were moved by their innocence and purity and gladly satisfied their requests. The practitioners urged them to cherish Dafa, and repeatedly read the books and do the exercises. Watching them as they departed, we were genuinely happy they had the opportunity to learn about Dafa.
