Falun Gong followers staged a protest in Hong Kong October 26, 2001, to honor those they say have lost their lives or have been denied freedom to practice their movements in China, where the group is outlawed. Falun Gong has said more than 50,000 adherents have been sent to prisons, labor camps and mental hospital in China since it was banned.
