1. [Jiangxi Province] Police Detain Practitioners Indefinitely at Forced Labor Camp
Female Falun Gong practitioners Jiang Lanying, Jiang Fengying, Zhao Yufang, Li Chunfeng and others have been illegally imprisoned for long periods of time in Jiangxi Province's Female Forced Labor Camp because they firmly believe in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance."
Jiangxi Province's Party Delegate Conference is drawing near. We hope that officials who still have a conscience will investigate their colleagues' activities and help end the persecution of the kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners.
2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Lawless Police Detain Many Who Have Accessed Minghui.net
According to inside information from Nanchang City's Police Department, a lot of Dafa truth-clarifying flyers have appeared all over Nanchang City. Police are frantically arresting practitioners with access to Minghui.net. They monitor the telephones and cellular phones of practitioners who are on their lists of suspects. The police also equipped local internet cafes with automatic alarm systems. As soon as the users try to access Minghui.net or other Dafa websites, the system will sound the alarm. Police officers have already arrested some practitioners in Nanchang City this way. They also use internet patrol software to monitor web-browsing activities.
3. [Xindu County, Sichuan Province] Information about the Torture of Practitioner Liu Guangxiu
Liu Guangxiu, female, 37 years old, is a resident of Huanghua Village, Dafeng Township, Xindu County, Sichuan Province.
On December 17, 2000, Beijing police officers detained Liu Guangxiu as she went to appeal in Beijing. The police escorted her and several other practitioners to an underground jail not far from Badaling Mountain where they were savagely tortured. Since Liu Guangxiu did not cooperate with the abusive policemen, they undressed her, leaving her wearing only her undergarments. They forced her to stand outside on the snowy ground for 24 hours. In the meantime, they poured icy water all over her body and force-fed water through her nose. After she was tortured for two weeks, the police told her, "If you tell your name and address, you will be sent back home and we will not bother you any more." The police escorted her back to Dafeng Township, Xindu County, however, she was not allowed to return home. Instead she was cuffed, shackled and imprisoned in Dafeng Township's Police Station where she was tortured and abused both mentally and physically. Policemen Liu and Yang Huizhong beat and insulted her. Not giving in after having endured over 24 hours of such brutality, she was put into Xindu County Detention Center and held for two months.
Policemen later brought Liu Guangxiu back to Dafeng Township's police station and tortured her again. They locked her up in a dirty, smelly and dark room while she was still handcuffed and shackled. Policemen Yang and Liu tried again to force Liu Guangxiu to give up her belief in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" and write a "guarantee statement" to denounce Dafa. Refusing to cooperate, they tortured her for another 24 hours but still got nothing. She was sent back to Xindu County and detained for another 40 days. Liu Guangxiu's family repeatedly asked the police to release her. Policeman Yang Huaizhong said that they could only release her in shackles and sent Liu Guangxiu home still shackled. The police refused to unlock the shackles even at her home. Liu Guangxiu was tortured in this way over two weeks. Only when Liu Guangxiu's feet were terribly infected did the police take off the shackles.
About 8:00 a.m. on April 18, 2001, when Liu Guangxiu was still asleep, officers from Dafeng Township's police station broke into her home. They beat and then dragged her into a bus, and then tortured her for 24 hours at the police station. They detained her in the Ningxia Street Jail in Chengdu for a month. Afterwards, without going through proper legal procedures, they sentenced her to one year of forced labor in the Zizhong Female Forced Labor Camp. Currently Liu Guangxiu is being tortured and abused in the labor camp.
4. [Xindu County, Sichuan Province] Record of Criminal Acts Committed by the Local Police
Dafa practitioners Wang Yongsu, female, 51-years-old and Xu Xianghong, female, 53-years-old are both from Longan Township, Xindu County. On the night of July 13, 2001, officers from the Longan Police Station arrested the practitioners when they posted Dafa truth-clarifying materials and detained the two in a small room. During the night Wang Yongsu and Xu Xianghong were tortured. Because they refused to cooperate, the next day the police escorted them to Xindu Detention Center. Qi Guangming, director of the police department, detained and tortured them for 28 days. The relatives of Xu Xianghong interceded through other people and were forced to pay a bribe of 10,000 Yuan (the average monthly income in urban areas is approximately 500 Yuan) to secure her release. Unable to afford to pay such a ridiculous bribe, the other practitioner was sent to Chengdu's Sida Jail to be tortured for 12 days. Her family was finally forced to pay 5,000 Yuan to secure her release.
Dafa practitioner Lin Tianhui, female, 55-years-old, is from Zhuyou Township, Xindu County, Sichuan Province. Earlier this year, over the New Year's holiday, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa and clarify the truth. She was arrested by the police in Beijing and sent back to Xindu County. Policeman Qi Guangming unlawfully detained and tortured Lin Tianhui for 45 days. Before the National Day holiday, she was summoned to the police station and asked, "Are you going to Beijing to appeal?" Lin Tianhui replied, "Whether I will go or not and where I will go is a matter of my personal freedom. Nobody has the right to interfere." Yang Zhengui, director of the police station, detained her for another 9 days and released her after the holidays.
5. [Sichuan Province] Practitioner Tian Xu Faces Persecution
Tian Xu started to practice Dafa in 1997. In March 2000 he went to Beijing to appeal. Having said, "Falun Dafa is good," he was arrested in Beijing and sent to Ziyang City's Liaison Office in Beijing. Lawless officials confiscated 1,300 Yuan from him. He was escorted back by the police from the Anyue Police Station and unlawfully detained for 15 days. He was released on March 27. He was again detained for one month for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying literature and fined 5,000 Yuan. On October 10, the police went to his home and tried to force him to disclose the location where he printed the flyers. Tian Xu refused to do so. The police searched his home and found Master's articles and Dafa materials. They handcuffed him and took him away immediately. They again tried to force him to reveal where the Dafa materials were printed. Tian Xu still refused to tell them and as a result he was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. He is currently being held in the Mianyang Xinhua Detention Center.
6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Local Police Hang a Dafa Practitioner in the Air for 4 Days
Several former practitioners from Nanchang City, Xinjiang and Jinxian Counties recently renounced Falun Dafa and turned in several practitioners. For example, they turned in a man in his 60's, Wang Douyu, who had already lost his son Wang Xin to death by police torture, because he distributed Master's articles.
Those who have been turned in are being brainwashed in Nanchang's Police Academy, suffering inhuman abuse.
Police in Nanchang cuffed a practitioner with his hands behind his back and then hung him up in the air by his cuffed hands for 4 straight days. It was reported that his hands were deformed as a result of this torture.
7. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Lawless Officers Torture Dafa Practitioners
Dafa practitioners who were arrested by lawless policemen have suffered from different degrees and extents of torture during interrogation. The following is a partial list of these practitioners.
Chen Baozhi, male, over 60-years-old, was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment. During interrogation, a police officer broke his collarbone.
Huang Baohua, female, over 40-years-old, was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment. Police beat her so savagely during interrogation that she defecated blood.
Li Xiaoqing, female, over 30-years-old, was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment. She maintained her silence throughout her torture and interrogation.
Zhang Li, female, in her thirties, maintained her silence throughout her torture and interrogation.
Zhu Yu, a male in his twenties, is an official who holds a Bachelor's Degree. After being hung up in the air by his handcuffed hands for 6 days, he still refused to cooperate with the police. As a final resort, the policemen ordered the criminal inmates to torture him.
8. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] The "610" Office Illegally and Indefinitely Detains Practitioners
Practitioner Chen Aiping who lives in Hanchuan City, Hubei Province has been illegally imprisoned for 3 months by authorities from the 610 Office of Hanchuang City after she went to Beijing to appeal on July 22, 1999. (The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). She was forced to leave her home in March 2001 to avoid further persecution. In the same month, officials found out what school her son attends. They duped her son into telling them Chen Aiping's whereabouts. Afterwards they went to Wuhan City to arrest her and brought her back to Hanchuan City. She has been illegally imprisoned there for 7 months at Hanchuan's First Detention Center. She has become emaciated after holding a 30-day hunger strike. She cannot walk on her own, and her life is in danger. Hanchuan Police Department personnel and authorities from the 610 Office are ignoring her situation.
Mrs. Zhang, who is 70-years-old, was arrested when she distributed truth-clarifying literature. She was then sent to Hanchuan's First Detention Center. No one is taking care of her 80-year-old husband, who suffers from dementia.
In March 2001, the Hanchuan 610 Office authorities held a brainwashing class. Practitioners who refused to write "guarantee statements" to renounce Falun Dafa would not be released. Over 10 practitioners have been imprisoned without due process of law for more than half a year at Hanchuan's Second Detention Center.
We hope that practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind the Hanchuan City authorities at 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. everyday.

9. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Record of Local Practitioners Being Persecuted
1. Two practitioners have been sentenced to jail, seven sent to forced labor camps and 97 detained.
2. Four practitioners were expelled from the party, five fired from their jobs and six had their salaries suspended.
3. 39 practitioners had a total of over 200,000 Yuan extorted from them as "bail."
4. 7 practitioners remain under detention after being held for long periods without legal proceedings.
5. Around February 1, 2001, several practitioners were sent to Bazhong Detention Center. The female practitioners include Yan Huiying, Zhou Taishu, Gou Jufen, Lei Juzhen, Yang Qinghua, Zhou Lihua and others. Yan Huiying was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Zhou Taishu was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison. The policemen said, "One more flyer, one more year in jail."
6. In October 2001, authorities from the Bazhong Detention Center imprisoned practitioners Liao Guifang and Han Zhencai from Huacong District without legal procedures. The practitioners were released after the authorities extorted large amounts of money from practitioners' relatives.
7. Zhao Guoxue, male, from Yushan Township, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Police searched his home many times. His wife was also imprisoned three times, and his son was forced to leave home to avoid persecution. Even his 9-year-old grandson was detained for several days.
The list of perpetrators includes Direct Li of Yushan Township's Police Station, Bazhong District; Village Chief Liu Daming and Secretary Qiao Jinhui of the Third Village, Jinshan Township, Yushan Township. Zhao Gang and his associates from Bazhong City's Detention Center are especially vicious. They have arrested, beaten and extorted money from many practitioners.
10. [Beijing] The "610" Terrorism Organization Kidnaps a Couple from the Nankou Engine Factory
It was reported that on the night of December 6, 2001, practitioner Liang Hongxing and her husband Su, employees of the Nankou Engine Factory, Changping County, Beijing, were taken away from the factory by 610 officials while they were working on the night shift. They are being held at a village for forced brainwashing.

11. [Beijing] Two Large Banners Hung at an Intersection of Jingzhang Highway Exposes the Crimes of Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan
Before October 1, 2001, the authorities from Yanqing County tried all kind of despicable means to monitor, follow and arrest practitioners and search their homes. They even arrested relatives of practitioners who tried to stop them. They even wouldn't spare a practitioner who was not yet 16-years-old. The policemen claimed, "We will put him in jail for a long time. He will turn 16 while he's in jail." Since September 24, 2001, nine practitioners have been sentenced to one and half a year's forced labor without legal proceedings.
There are three 6-story high billboards at the on-ramp to the Jingzhang Highway in Yanqing County. On November 8, 2001, large banners were hung on the boards. The banners read, "Jiang Zemin brutally murdered 265 practitioners," "Luo Gan kills innocent people at will," and "Uphold Justice." These banners were very striking and exposed the persecution of practitioners. This shocked Li Lanqing and other officials of the central government. They issued an order to establish a "special investigative team" to resolve the case within a short time. They have started a new round of persecution against local practitioners.
